This is something where BioWare is damned if they reveal the face and damned if they do not reveal the face. Fans will be mad if they reveal it, thus ruining the mystery and it is not to their expectations. Fans will be mad if they reveal it, and it turns into some ethereal human alien-babe cop out for pure fanwank and sexualization purposes. Fans will be mad if they do not reveal the face by ME3's end, feeling cheated. Fans will be upset their fantasy continues to be unknowable to some extent. So on and so on and so on.

While it isn't an excuse for BW to do or not do something, it is a rather mired and poor position to be in for them.

Personally, I rather not see Tali's face at all. She is who she is. However, if there is a Quarian/Tali reveal, I would hope they make Quarians just as or more alien than Turian facial traits. I'd be happier if Quarians were 'monstrous' (Cthulhu squid-faces or Predators, etc) in facial traits than some youthful, elven-esque pretty exotic human cop-out (re: Asari).

Complaints are here so that BW doesn't get lazy If the players would just accept and be glad about everything, BW's standards would lower and we'd see something like <insert the name of some game with lame repetative plot>

It's an important moment, it should be dramatic, like while reclaiming Rannoch, a bunch of Quarians over a hill watching with awe a sunrise and some start removing their helmets, if only for a little while (we don't want a bunch of dead quarians after all right?). Put Tali right there alongside shepard with a thank you in between and POW, great scene

I would love to see ANY Quarian's face.

Ultimately I think it will be a marketing decision. Mass Effect will live on in several more games and books..maybe even a MMO.

The decision making could be going something like this....
"Would future consumers find Quarians more enticing with their mask on"?
"Or do we finaly reveal how they look because some people demand it"?

That pretty much sums up the entire female cast of ME2, and that worked out pretty well for BW, so...

Well, I (preferably) wouldn't go quite that far on the "ugly" scale, but yes, we already have tentacle-headed Amazons, we sure as hell don't need chicken-legged humans on top of that. And while I personally don't really care whether we get to see Tali's face in particular or not, I do want to know what Quarians in general look like. Silly über-mysterious quarter-transparent masks are silly.

By the way, I rarely see anyone in these threads pointing out that Tali already has a face. It's hard to see under the helmet, but it's there, a full 3D model of everything except her jaw. If they just add textures and maybe a few more polygons to that face and show it, I'd be fairly cool with that.

It was a placeholder, I don't think they'll use that since it was Predator like hideous

It may have been pale and oddly elongated but I wouldn't call it Predator-like.

I'm a rather large Tali fan, and I want it to be optional. In a game series all about choice, why would they railroad something like that?

Maybe they are see-througth but we can't really see them in detail because maybe they don't  want other species to see exctly how they look?

I think the article was spot on. Whether you romanced Tali or not, if you've cared at all for the Quarian plight it would be proper closure to be able to share in their joy as they finally are able to be free of the isolation from nearly all sensation. It is the right thing to do. Anything less would be a cop out.

I don't think it's a big deal at all. All the alien designs are fairly unimaginative and greatly resemble humans anyway. They have breasts for pete's sake! I imagine people's main concern are whether the are "hot" or not and Bioware's challenge will be to sufficiently differentiate it from the asari (which people do think are "hot") while still making her sexually appealing enough. I'm thinking space elves.

liked the article....i would think that a romance subplot would be the best way to work it in....can't really imagine another way.....it would feel kind of forced if she just removed her visor with you for some other reason....

I put time into romancing her I worried that she could die if I did sleep with her, so I saved the game just before agreeing to take things to the next level. I was peeved to not see her face, so I do want to see what she looks like. There is some very well done fan art out there.
