I installed the game okay and even my dlc seems okay (solid internet connection, so don't mind if it needs to authorise every time), but no shortcuts anywhere.  So I open the config utility and try to use the repair section (as I did with Origins the first time around).  In the little status bar/box at the bottom it says I don't appear to have sufficient rights.  I am the only user and I confirmed long ago in the user accounts section of control panel that I am admin too.

One other lesser detail, also in the config utility, what's the difference in language between "English" and "en-us"?  If no difference, why two options?

Edit: answer to question 1 sorta... Although I am definitely admin, I have to right-click the shortcut and "run as administrator".  Seems illogical to me since I installed the lot while being an admin.....

You'll need to go to the .exe files and set them to run as administrator (right click, properties, tick 'run as admin') - if you're running windows 7 they'll be in 'program files x(86)'. First one is the daoriginslauncher.exe (only file outside a folder in the dragon age folder), then go into the bin_ship folder and repeat the properties thing on the daorigins.exe file.

If you want to create a shortcut go into the folder with the launcher, right click and create shortcut then place that on your desktop.

On the english and english-us thing, there are differences in spelling Grey v Gray etc. but not sure if they have any effect on the game.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Not seen any difference on the language issue. Maybe it's a windows thing as much as a DA thing.
