Human noble if you want that romance to continue past the Landsmeet. Me personally I would go elf there is just too many chances to throw it back into peoples faces that you are an elf.

Flip a coin.
If you want to keep Alistair as a Warden while romancing him, it doesn't matter.

I like the CE best, particularly if you're playing a female character. There's just something about seeing a pair of elves cut down swathes of armored guards and then be able to say 'Hah, can't touch me!' to the guards that come to collect you that tickles me funny bone.

Also, you can continue the romance past the Landsmeet with either City Elf, or Human Noble, but only the Human Noble can marry Alistair. The City Elf can be a mistress (if Alistair is king) or fellow Grey Warden (if you don't make Alistair king).

My favorite moment in that origin is when Soris slides a sword (borrowed from Duncan, woot!) across the floor to the city elf PC. And then the guards go, "Oh, crap."

RE bolded part: And then it's really great when you talk to Daveth at Ostagar and he mentions telling the Denerim city guards essentially that. Except nonverbally. Where is the fistbump option?
