Is there anybody here who would go so far as to re-play ME2 explicitly to kill off a squaddie if the squaddie gets a large or nonsensical role in ME3? Due to either dislike, RP, story, etc...?

I would.
If I feel that a character's portrayal in ME3 is out of character or otherwise does not do them justice, I may go back into ME1/ME2 (or more probably, use a save game editor) and have them killed to spare myself.

On one of my Shepards (not my main, mind you), I have Garrus killed because that Shepard wouldn't have a friendly relationship with Garrus as the game seems to force you to have.

I have multiple play-throughs with Shepards that would work a lot better story wise without specific crew members. My main Shepard Kale, lost Miranda and Tali.

Miranda was intentional, Kale didn't trust her, and wanted to take away TIM's pet. Tali i set up to lose because i wanted Kale to experience the loss of a close friend to further her fire to defeat the Reapers.

Hmm... I might consider it for story purposes. For instance, maybe Mission A goes one way if X survived but Shepard will have to do things differently because now they died. Otherwise, if I wanted them dead, I would have done it already.

It depends on the fallout in ME 3 and how many different story paths we get base on the choices we make. Right
now I don't think its going to many at least not enough to warrant going back and killing people off.

nope. at one point I considered it actually, but after much thought and multiple playthroughs where different squadmates died - I decided that if I don't like how the characters are handled to that degree, I'll just scrap most of those playthroughs and put the game aside. because it would sour the game for me enough to not want to deal with it again.

My biggest issue with killing characters off in ME is the fact that its handle poorly. The deaths have no lasting impact on the story in general and more a result of Shepard being more of blank slate that we imprint out feeling more than story issue.

I had a playthrough where only these people would survive(the normandy crew all survived, kelly, chakwas, all of those guys), Tali(romanced her in a couple playthroughs, love the voice and personality), Garrus(both survived all my playthroughs, my best friends that didn't abandon me, like "ahem, Ashley, Kaiden"),Miranda(she is my LI, Miri FTW!),Legion(for quarian/Geth peace),Grunt(for the krogan to survive),Mordin(to cure genophage),Kasumi(love to see if she is an LI for ME3), Zaeed(why not? he is a badass),Samara(also want to see if she is an LI for ME3).Thane(guy wants to save his son, I can see that). the rest can go to hell.

pretty much(of course I have 4 playthroughs where everyone survives, but I just stated the reasons why those characters survived)

 Jack is very much on that fence with me if I don't like what they make her in ME3. Better to let her die as I liked her than deal with the character I like most getting retconned into being a goody-goody type.

i'm pondering a play through of ME2 with my current ME1 run to kill off all male party members just for the heck of it and to see what a play through of ME3 will be like with only certain characters surviving. But that's just for S&G.
