What if Casey Hudson's true definition behind the words "permanent defeats the nature of war" (or whatever it was, I'm tired) were a hint at a rotating-squadmate-but-only-for-co-op system? I'd be a bit miffed if I could only get Wrex on my side so long as a buddy was controlling him but whatev.

Or maybe temporary squadmates like Thane and Wrex (from what we've heard) can be controlled via multiplayer connections.

Getting access to squadmates through co-op only... Word "rage" was used too often on this page, so I'll keep silent.

And Thane is LI... implications... khm. questionable.

Not really, considering people on the BSN only consist of 1% of the ME fans or some stupidly low amount. And, a lot of those BSN people encourage MP or have no say in the matter.

They're going to keep a lot of that loyal core fanbase happy in the long run, in the coming years once this has long since blown over, so long as the single-player storyline is reasonably fulfilling.

And if it isn't... then that sucks. /shrug

Sorry but i'm not buying this game. I have CE for ME1 and ME2 and i'm not buying ME3 because multiplayer.

I don't know why this would alienate so many, though. We don't know how big the MP part is yet, what kind of MP we're talking about here or if the SP part suffers from this. Maybe I'm too much of an optimist here because I'm actually looking forward to the MP, but it may turn out to be a nice feature and in any case, I'm pretty sure it's optional.

First things first, I was totally against multiplayer in ME3. The series has been a single player experience and should remain one (for the most part).

What I wouldn't mind as multiplayer are 2 things:
1. Coop horde mode style where you replay various big battles going on in ME3 as eg Turian or Krogan ground teams in coop. Could add a bit to the experience and see things from a different point of view.
2. The option to have a second player join in the campaign and control a squad member. This is mostly because after I do my playthrough, I have like 3 friends who all starting playing ME because of me and I watched them playing it (most of the time). So I would like to know what things and decisions happen in their playthrough. -> Wouldn't mit picking up the controller and join in on the fun a bit

But anyway, let's wait and see. News should be coming in soon.
