This. It just seems unnessesary to tack this on to the last game in a trilogy. There are going tto be other games in the mass effect universe, do multiplayer with them instead.


Oh but this is the best point to jump in the series remember? That also ment it was the best time for multiplayer to dive in too. It makes perfect sense.

To settle that once and for all:


Scientific method requires actual, recreateable evidence. We already had our share of Multiplayer confirmed on magazines and gaming websites so this one, whilst being undenyably more plausible due to fitting side-information (the press conference), is just as subject to that concept as any other not confirmed record until BioWare gives definite prove.

That, and only that is what "might" implies. Not "If I just wish for it hard enough, there will be no MP, yay" but the scientifically correct scepticism until a definite conclusion has been offered by the only ones that can, BioWare.




The "told you so" attitude some people are exhibiting here is understandable (especially if it turns out correct), but if pointed at the wrong people, who just happened to wait for a real answer by officials, it is outright insulting our intellect. I bid you people to just lay it down.

Sounds like you're in denial as well. No matter, Bioware will no doubt confirm this. Their absense as of right now proves this is less likely to be another false alarm, that and this thread is exploding. Something, if I recall correctly, didn't happen with the other threads.

In addition, if BioWare confirms this, then I'm good with it. I've got my own ideas on how the MP might look like and something alike would be nice to have (before anyone asks, yes it is also CoOp plus some objective based team vs team or team vs AI missions). I am by no means one of the "MP will kill Mass Effect" crowd. Neither do I belong to the "bad MP will kill Mass Effect" crowd for that matter. I am counting myself to the "A bad singleplayer would ruin Mass Effect and a MP might just draw away ressources for that, making it relatively more likely" crowd.

I think the official response was a non-response like "There's a lot of speculation about what the new feature is and what may be a big or awesome feature to one person may not be a big deal or awesome to another."

The article says play with your friends. The front cover has 4 characters in the squad who are NOT any of the actual main characters so far. This suggests it is CO-OP Multiplayer.

You asked a question that I thought was so dumb I just laughed. Why in the hell would a company make Multiplayer platform specific? I've never heard of such a thing in my life.

ME1-Small group of misfits chasing down a rogue agent
ME2-Dirty Dozen a la Space
ME3-Poop hits the fan Galactic War. This is the only excusable time for a co-op multiplayer component (according to the magazine, which says Fight with your friends and not against them).

I have faith in BW as they have kept their word concerning expanded RPG elements in comparison to 2 and as I have played the Demo I like the new ability choices far better than ME1. They brought back weapon modding and better than before. Story wise we know nothing and I prefer it that way.

Time will tell.

You obviously didn't read the thread. SWM will "believe it when [he] sees it". EternalAmbiguity still thinks that Feature X is a story reveal (lol). Several others saying that until BW confirm it it's not real (I'm not sure how a BW interview with a magazine is not official confirmation from BW but there you go).

Ya they've sais that all along, PvP would just be so stupid. A co-op hoard mode=fun in my book.

In Game Informer, they said they're not adding multiplayer. So I'll go by BioWare's official statement, instead of a statement made by a magazine I've never even seen before.
