What? Maybe they'd already completed the SP element.

Well, if that were the case and I were going to be a nitpicking jerk, I might be somewhat annoyed about getting to wait another six months for the addition of something I really don't care for.

But yes. I'm not going to get annoyed at a 'zomg rediverted resources' thing, because for all I know they allocated additional on top of what they would've otherwise had for singleplayer anyway.

Hey, they can take as long as they want to make the game as good as it can be. Besides, I've still got six games I want to get that come out three months before ME3.

Amazingly, I have Origin installed, and funnily enough, my PC hasn't blown up, or slowed down, nor have the FBI raided my place. Like Steam, it just sits in the tray, doing nothing most of the time. It starts up quicker than Steam too. Still waiting for the paranoid to say how Origin will turn your PC into a zombie.

It will be fine. Most of the people whining about Origin will still get the game because people lack discipline and impulse control, these personal traits being unfavorable in a capitalistic consumer society. So they will get the game, install Origin, play it and come to realize it's not actually the end of the world. Even so, they probably won't stop whining about having been forced to do so.

Not really when there are other options available. The undefined nature of what it looks for on the computer system combined with the privacy terms is what irks most people, not the fact that it collects data. Although if one thinks it turns the PC into a zombie then they're as big a dumb arse as those who dismiss any concerns regarding such terms.

If multiplayer doesn't include PvP then I don't care.

sure guy

ps: they could still require the Origin client to be installed, even on non-Origin hard copies purchased from Amazon etc.

There're probably busy frothing uncontrolably from mouth and mindlessly trashing every thing they come across while scraming 'Betrayal!!!!!".

That's my guess anyway.Image IPB

So now any perceived defect in the single-player campaign will be blamed on the multiplayer. That should be fun for everyone to deal with.

Critical thinking skills. Multiplayer's gimmick is all about "PLAY NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!" What about those gamers that are on the fence about it? Price drops are not even an option. What are you going to say "**** you for being cautious?"

Team Fortress 2 came out four years ago. It's still healthy.

How many people actually play PC games now, besides Steam users?

First off, saying "How many people actually play PC games now, besides Steam users?" would be akin to say "How many people actually play console games now, without owning a console?" Mostly because most recent launches use steamworks as their DLC, so even retail copies require you to install steam.
That said, there's more PC gamers than XBox 360 gamers and PS3 gamers combined.

Well, the single-player game had better be d*mn good, up to the same polished standard as the first two games, and I better not need anyone playing with me to finish it. As long as multiplayer is a completely separate entity that I can (and will) ignore in favor of a great single-player experience, then cool. But frankly, at this point, I have my doubts.

One other thing, all those of you licking your chops for a schadenfreude fest at the expense of the people who didn't want to multiplayer should check yourselves. Games have limited budgets and development timeframes. It's not such a farfetched idea that many great things that could've been a part of the main game were abandoned in favor of providing this multiplayer "we want the Halo and Gears of Wars fans" money grab. We may now get a game that is much less than what it could be.

For the first time, I am now nervous about ME3. *sigh* Maybe this will at least make the next six months go by faster.

I guess we kind of know why they delayed Mass Effect 3...it was most likely so they could refine and have time to make the multiplayer.

Almost all were just threatening Bioware. Do you really believe they won't buy a game because there is one more feature? Like when you buy a car and when you learn you also get a hanger for your bikes you suddenly don't want it anymore just because you don't ride bikes?

time spend on MP implies less time and resourseces to make a better SP ....... u got what i mean ? :wizard:

What? Maybe they'd already completed the SP element.

Again, people assuming that due care and effort has not gone into the main game.

well u didn´t get it....... the time and the resource spent on MP should have been used on the SP to add content or to polish the SP features...... if they want to use the ME uni to make an MP they should start a new game , and let the spard story finish as it started a SP history ...... if i want a MP i play BF2 or any BF series becouse that is a MP game , i hope that u understand my point of now

I'm not going to read 30+ pages about this but has anyone actually considered that the MP component will developed by a separate Bioware studio? Meaning that there is no sacrifice to the singleplayer like I hear so many users worry about.

Look at Ubisoft, for example. Unless I'm mistaken, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was primarily developed by Ubisoft Montreal but the multiplayer was developed by Ubisoft Shanghai.

I totally welcome a MP feature. Although, I do believe that if it's not some form of co-op it just will not last and will not be played.

what a waste of money and resources

Let's wait until ME3 is released and say that.

it's very simple really, I play mass effect solely for the SP, any resource put toward MP regardlessof the result is wasted for me

the only good thing is that the delay gave the devs more time to polish the game

Never underestimate how dramatic 'gamers' can be. Some clown on the BF3 cancelled his pre-order all because the beta didn't let him rebind his keys. Nevermind the fact that keys can be re-assigned in the full game.

You only have to look at the comments section on the big gaming websites to see how pathetic most of them are. Too bad this place has a few as well. TK, OLC, WL, and a bunch of notorious others.

But of course the other side would say that the bike hanger was added at the expense of a wheel.
