I will when anything you say isn't the same fallacious nonsense about zots being diverted from A to B, with a thin
frosting of other words to make it seem less like, with all due respect, bollocks.

Initally, I thought no, but with all these ungrateful 'fans' complaining? I wouldn't blame them at all.

Besides, there is only so much and so far you can go with a game franchise. It'd be nice to think that they'd be sensible and quit while they're ahead.

It would be nice to think so but since when did sense come into the picture when money was involved?

Come on... don't be rude. But I wasn't kidding about 5CE pre-ordered. There is:
- one for Xbox360 that will be played.
- one for Xbox360 that will not be opend.
- one for PC that will be played.
- one for PC that will not be opend.
- one for PS3 that will not be opend.

And there you have it. ^_^

Is this so you've got mint condition copies? If so that's true dedication.

Something like this, yeah. I never felt like this with a game before. I just have to have unopend free of dust copies in case my opend ones somehow get damaged. They will be sealed in a glass case with an unopend ME CE and ME2 PC and Xbox CE.

Ah I see. Well I admire your dedication and your budget sir.

I am not saying there isn't dimishing returns but creating a team to implement multiplayer costs money and time. That money and time could have been applied to the single player.

The operative word is "could".  Yes, it most definitely could have been.  That is not the same thing as would have been.

Just assume I'm around quoting everything didymos says and saying "THIS."

It's not like there's a single pie every department has to take a slice out of.  They probably have to pitch for the money to do things.

A dramatization:

"We want to implement multiplayer"
"What will that cost us?"
"Ten bucks and a night with Lukas Kristjanson"
"Okay, we like the cost-to-benefit of introducing multiplayer to the last game in the series, it'll give it some shelf life while we work on what's next in the Mass Effect universe."
"But the grognards on the BSN will be buttmad."
"What else is new?"

lol this is like watching a car wreck, i can't look away from this batpoo insanity, i've seen you mutants jump the gun before but this is hillarious

i love how everyones suddenly an industry expert and can detail everyway this'll somehow destroy the game (you're nobodies by the way, you & your opinions are meaningless, even to bioware, you make up about 10% of their sales and that's me being generius)

you could all EASILY list 10 games right now that added multiplayer and didn't ruin the single player, but that'd require common sense and rational thought which none of you posses as clearly shown

Who is 'we'? I'm a fan of both franchises and I plan to buy ME3 and Skyrim (pre-ordered both) the day they come out.

37 pages of a thread titled, "Multiplayer confirmed", and no lockdown or moderators changing the title eh? I think biowares' silence in this regard speaks volumes.

SP of ME 3 looks more promising than what we knew of DA 2 at the time.

And if BW doesn't know what they're doing, then neither do Beth. If Oblivion was anything to go by, Skyrim will be way worse.

...Oblivion may have been GOTY in the way lots of things are GOTY. In the end, it's a game we all bought and it's a game that got modded to be better (which is probably what we all expected, right?).

I mean, we can like Oblivion while acknowledging its rather prominent and extensive problems at release, can't we?

Hehe, this is what always makes me chuckle about Oblivion. I always hear people talk about what an awesome game it is -- right before they recite a LONG list of problems with it.
I have the game, and I even have a few mods for it, but I've never even played it long enough to get out of the darkness and see that great "moment" when you enter the main world that I've heard so much about. Someday I guess.

Isn't this the last Mass Effect game in the series anyway? Image IPB

You really think EA are going to leave Mass Effect (or even Shepard) alone forever?

I don't think you know EA very well at all.  In case you haven't noticed, they like to milk their franchises until there is only a broken shell of the original game.  Until the costs exceed the profits, there is no end to the torment.

Why does anyone need to hate on any game?

Immature much?

The only way co-op would work is if we could only have 3 powers and 2 weapons due to console restrictions. 3 powers because there are only 3 buttons you can hotkey skills to, and 2 weapons so you can switch by holding X (or square I think for PS3)...

or if bringing up the Power/Weapon Wheel doesn't freeze time...

and I think it'd probably work like you two are part of a 2 man squad and you have an objective to complete. You'd probably play as generic N7 marines if we're only playing as humans, or we'll be given the chance to branch out and play as other races, like asari commandos, salarian STG agents, etc.

PvP multiplayer is the only thing that I cannot see working well given ME3's mechanics. If everyone is given Shepard's reactions and physics, all we need is one guy to act like a Pyro and barrage the other guy with a Flamethrower and when his/her shields go down, Pull them and do a Warp Explosion. Or Stasis. Or Neural. Or Throw. Or Singularity. Or Reave. Or Dominate. Or Sabotage spam until they run out of clips. Plus, against CPU targets, there is a set pattern in terms of how and when they shoot. They will always get out of cover to fruitlessly shoot your cover. Humans might just chill there until someone gets out of cover first...making for a boring match (unless it's a Vanguard free for all)...another thing is Adrenaline Rush. How is that going to work? Will time slow down for everyone else? Will you just seem really really fast? And what about Tech Armor. Sentinels never die unless they get gang raped by YMIR mechs while their armor is on cooldown.

I've only skimmed through this thread but from what I've seen the number of these types of comments out number the amount of 'freaking out' comments 10:1.

My shrink says it is not healthy. I should rather go outside and try to mingle with people. Maybe even get a girlfriend. I may have to do this or I won't have a coop partner coming March :(

As for the money, when you are only sitting at home playing videogames you tend to spend your money on video games. It is the only real hobby I got so almost all of my spare money goes into it. Simple as that.

That this thread also has more validation that your typical "Do you want multiplayer in ME3?" discussion I think is also part of it.

Broad generalisations don't exactly make your point any stronger, you know. If everyone's opinion in meaningless, then what's the harm in voicing it? And wouldn't that mean a supportive opinion would be meaningless too? Since everyone here is a "nobody".

Just let people vent. Sure people overreact but expecting anything else is unrealistic. It's happened before and it'll happen again. Besides, it's not as if BioWare don't listen to their playerbase, they've implemented features in the past that have been asked for by us. That's a good a reason as any to try and get your own view across, no matter what that might be.

Really dont think this was needed or wanted very much but I dont think anyone can judge it until its out and theyve played it. The only thing is if the single player is not as good as everyone is hoping they will blame this.

If this is true, then does anyone know if it has been said anywhere what type of multiplayer it will be? The wording of the magazine hints at co-op, which I'm actually rather excited about. I hope the single-player remains so, but a separate co-op campaign could be awesome.

I was thinking this - multiplayer might just be what saves the gameplay for me, and co-op especially. I've never really been able to get into the Mass Effect games, although I will probably (despite how cross I was about DA2 being pants) buy ME3 anyway just to see if this is the one where I "get it".

Without zot arguments - either explicit or implicit ones - the vast majority of prerelease threads would be ghost towns.

Which is all well and good - we're here to discuss stuff after all.  The problem is that most of the posters taking part in those discussion have no idea that, well, they have no idea.

Without actual knowledge of EA/BioWares budgets and financial statements, it's all just masturbation.
