I am not saying there isn't dimishing returns but creating a team to implement multiplayer costs money and time. That money and time could have been applied to the single player.
The operative word is "could". Yes, it most definitely could have been. That is not the same thing as would have been.
I sincerely hope we're not wishing that it should have been after release...

If this is true, then does anyone know if it has been said anywhere what type of multiplayer it will be? The wording of the magazine hints at co-op, which I'm actually rather excited about. I hope the single-player remains so, but a separate co-op campaign could be awesome.
We of the Aussie brigade can read the magazine article next week and update everyone
If BW doesn't fess up with any news sooner of course.
Greetings, fellow Aussie gamer! We are dedicated. We have to be. It costs us more.
Don't remind me, I just forked over $130 for the Collectors Edition at JB.
Tell me about it. I'm a American expat. Every trip to the States involves picking up several packages of games I've purchased and had sent to my mother's house, so I can bring them back home on the flight with me.
Fortunately, between that, Steam, sales and a bit of patience, a PC gamer can still find a bargain or two -- even in Oz....
....Not that they won't get 100+ out of me on Day 1 for ME3 *sigh*

37 pages of a thread titled, "Multiplayer confirmed", and no lockdown or moderators changing the title eh? I think biowares' silence in this regard speaks volumes.
You have to give the Mods and Bioware at least a little time to even see this Thread before saying something like that.

Ah I see. Well I admire your dedication and your budget sir.
My shrink says it is not healthy. I should rather go outside and try to mingle with people. Maybe even get a girlfriend. I may have to do this or I won't have a coop partner coming March
As for the money, when you are only sitting at home playing videogames you tend to spend your money on video games. It is the only real hobby I got so almost all of my spare money goes into it. Simple as that.
I'm pretty much the same so I certainly won't criticise you for it

Moderators aren't awake yet, I think.
Or the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
Or there're just having way too much fun here just to simply lock this.

Haven't heard of many that dislike ME2 or any that disliked both 1 and 2. Ironically the poster boy for slagging off is the same on both forums. I'll let you guess which game that is.Chouan wrote...

Who is 'we'? I'm a fan of both franchises and I plan to buy ME3 and Skyrim (pre-ordered both) the day they come out.

Basic economics... go online and have a read.
I will when anything you say isn't the same fallacious nonsense about zots being diverted from A to B, with a thin
frosting of other words to make it seem less like, with all due respect, bollocks.
So you admit to knowing nothing of basic economics? You're still arguing because...?
No, that isn't what I said. It's probably hard to tell, because culletron1's viewpoint on zots comes across as just so credible.
Probably on account of how a grounding in basic economics involves running through clairvoyance 101.

The only way co-op would work is if we could only have 3 powers and 2 weapons due to console restrictions. 3 powers because there are only 3 buttons you can hotkey skills to, and 2 weapons so you can switch by holding X (or square I think for PS3)...
or if bringing up the Power/Weapon Wheel doesn't freeze time...
and I think it'd probably work like you two are part of a 2 man squad and you have an objective to complete. You'd probably play as generic N7 marines if we're only playing as humans, or we'll be given the chance to branch out and play as other races, like asari commandos, salarian STG agents, etc.
PvP multiplayer is the only thing that I cannot see working well given ME3's mechanics. If everyone is given Shepard's reactions and physics, all we need is one guy to act like a Pyro and barrage the other guy with a Flamethrower and when his/her shields go down, Pull them and do a Warp Explosion. Or Stasis. Or Neural. Or Throw. Or Singularity. Or Reave. Or Dominate. Or Sabotage spam until they run out of clips. Plus, against CPU targets, there is a set pattern in terms of how and when they shoot. They will always get out of cover to fruitlessly shoot your cover. Humans might just chill there until someone gets out of cover first...making for a boring match (unless it's a Vanguard free for all)...another thing is Adrenaline Rush. How is that going to work? Will time slow down for everyone else? Will you just seem really really fast? And what about Tech Armor. Sentinels never die unless they get gang raped by YMIR mechs while their armor is on cooldown.
Well, this covers a little bit of what's wrong with multiplayer.

Basic economics is not enough to speak intelligently about BioWare's zots.
We don't know how many zots BioWare has to distribute, nor do we know how they are distributed.
So any zot argument from an anonymous forum poster with no inside knowledge is literally worthless. Fun to debate about, sure, but worthless.

That and the fact that most of the powers are homing, which would be pretty unfair.

I disagree.
If Bioware are smart cookies in business, they'll make sure both the SP and MP elements are decent in order to make the return on their investments. It's illogical to do anything but. They are a company with big bucks, so there is nothing to suggest that they won't invest a sensible chunk of cash and time to both.
I very very much hope you're right but I'd question whether the release of DA2 (obviously rushed) was the idea of 'smart cookies in business' rather than 'short sighted cookies'. They lost alot of good will and a few more decisions like that could seriously damage the companies image as a whole.
Time will tell, and as I said (pages and pages) earlier, I fine with MP so long as I can't notice any negative effects in the SP game. I love ME and I want ME to live up to it's predecessors, and I'm sure that's what the developers want too, so I hope they have had the budget to deliver.
