Agreed. I don't think Shepard will be playable in co-op. It's likely we'll take the role of a member of some special strike force or something, fighting the Reapers while Shepard is off on other fronts. This allows Bioware to tailor character builds specifically around multiplayer, meaning they can retain time dilation for the singleplayer experience.

My only FemShep character is an Infiltrator. I honestly, never put all that together in that combo before, but man its a nice look that is for sure.

The characters to me they alllook different accept Shepard. That Asari looks interesting, cool it's another Asari not Morinth, Liara, Shiala, Samara or any of them. This could be character customization or coop character or just fan art. It could be run of those, there will be new characters that we don't know anything of yet.

So clearly they don't look like the main characters so they represent the MP race chrarcters you can use.

I'm pretty sure they are just generic normal characters to represent the multiplayer, even the person at the front doesn't look completely like Shepard....
