If it's a cool co-op, then I'm all for it. And even if I hated any kind of multiplayer, I've been 100% ready for the "MP in ME3" announcement since months anyway, because I figured all the MP rumors from various sources was just TOO much for it not to be true.

Enh.  Whatever.  I said it, and did so because that's exactly what it was: a rumor.  Truly solid evidence was lacking to say the least.  Now it's not.  Really that simple.

That's how I feel. I don't care about multi-player even if I don't play it. But to introduce this on a third installament that is the end of a trilogy is ridiculous.

Before giving up finishing Shepard's story over this, I'd like to know what "this" is. If "this" means something really horrible, like changes in main plot for multiplayer, then my Shepards' story ended either in ME1 (Reapers didn't arrive at all. TROLOLO) or in ME2, depending on Shepard. On another hand, "this" might end up absolutely harmless.

Nothing is for certain now and, I'm afraid, it will be so until release.

They've been seriously downplaying it which makes it seem like co-op only.

Nonsense. All the hardcore loyal for years BioWare fans couldn't have possibly forgot half of the BW games had MP. If they say multiplayer does not belong to a BioWare game, it must be true.

To people who don't approve of multiplayer give it a chance, don't jump to conclusions.

There was absolutely no reason to start messing with the ME series and add a entire game mode that might have been the cause of the delay for the final game's release, that the fans of pre-existing games would not approve of.

I can bet that none of the people who played ME1 or ME2 originally played because it was solely a shooting game, or because they wanted a great co-op mode. I know personally, that I was intrigued by the game because it was all about MY decisions as Shepard, and the entire game was surronded by those actions. If you're playing the game with other people, that makes this literally impossible; the people who you are playing with have a choice of their input of the game as well.

Seriously, why try to tamper with something that is already in perfectly fine condition? Bioware is just asking for backlash from their fans, if you ask me. You may call it "jumping to conclusions," but I'd like to call it "why fix something that isn't broken."

Not only that but everytime people try to make that point they bring up really old games.  What constitued great MP then and what it means now are TOTALLY different.  The demands have radically changed.  The only current somewhat RPG game with competent MP is AC.  And even that is a game world that was already built to have dozens of people on screen at one time.  ME(at least 1 and 2) isn't.  I'm sorry, I love Bioware, but Baldur's Gate, Deus Ex, and NWN doesn't mean MP could easily work in ME.  It just doesn't.
