But it's skin off MY nose that I don't get to play ME3 the way I wanted, so I LOSE.- It's their baby. They can do whatever they want and you can do nothing about it. Except DON'T BUY IT. And of you don't, someone else will. It's no skin off their nose.

Yes, they have the right to abandon the single player gamers after pretending to care about us all this time. They didn't tell us about the decision until now because they wanted to hide it.
No, they don't care if I don't buy it. But I care that I lost a game I want to play. So don't tell me I have no grounds for complaints just because you say I am unimportant.

I can see it's too much to hope that people will wait until they see how something will be implemented, or have played through the content, before yelling about it. Geez. Common sense tells you that the single-player game isn't going to suddenly become a stripped-down Angry Birds just because they added a multiplayer element. But I guess expecting people to be calm and reasonable about a video game feature announcement is too much to ask.
Sian, as I said before, find me a 30+ hr game with solid multi-player.

I've never played an MP before. How does that work? My understanding is you're playing on an 'online server'. So there wouldn't be anything I would need to load on my PC? And is there a server designated for new MP players so I wouldn't get bashed and kicked around by the one's that have been playing MP a lot?

The Krogan is definitely Wrex, which is an odd choice considering the confirmed perma-member squadmates so far...
The Asari, while I THINK is supposed to be Liara, is rather poorly drawn. It's hard to tell, it kinda just looks like an average Asari Commando.

Bioware, I'm sorry, I've been with you guys for a decade, from Baldur's gate, to DA: Origins you have never failed to produce good quality games that deliver. But there is indeed a startling trend that is slowly but surely taking shape. I don't want MP in Mass Effect (I will probably not play it unless there's some part of the story that is purposely withheld from you unless you finish MP), There's potential in this, so much potential, to either ruin ths game series, or elevate it to the next level.
I digress and don't make much sense, but my point is this: if you mess this game up like you messed up DA2, then you can say goodbye to my business.

I do find these rebellious noises about Origin pretty amusing though, we all know 99.99% of them are going to put up with it in the end.
Is that right? For people like me who have valuable information on our computers, no we won't. In my case, why would I want to give EA access to source files of the games I work on? I'll most likely play ME1 and 2 on PC, and create custom saves based on those playthroughs for ME3 on xbox. But anyways lets not pull the discussion towards origin in here, this is about multiplayer.

When faced with a choice between having to suffer through an inconvenience like disabling Origin or not playing ME3 altogether or violating their ill-defined principles about the 5th amendment, I'll bet on the latter.

You can see a positive in playing as a Krogan running around shotgunning other Geth? Not even a little bit?
Hate to break it to you but the average age of a gamer in 2011 is 37. So I don't know how your going to find so many 13 year olds.
Wow, I had no idea I was the average age of gamers. That's kinda cool.

Hey DS2 was brilliant and it had multiplayer, why can't this be the same?
I actually had fun with DS 2's MP, but only for a week or two, add to the fact that it took me 12-13 hours to complete Dead Space 1 whereas it took me only 7 and half hours to complete DS 2 and that was on multiple discs!
Anywho, I actually can't wait to see what the do, as long as the SP is untouched.

You understand that the single player and multiplayer are seperate modes. Anyways, everything is pointing to this being co-op not competitive.Rista B wrote...
Frankly this makes no sense at all...Bioware has positioned the entire trilogy as your story that you shape through your decisions (so, okay they haven't turned out that big of a deal yet, but there was always hope that they would in ME 3). Now just ignore that and go jump into the multiplayer map of council races fighting reapers on xyz map.
But that's okay 'cause it's multiplayer, none of that story/character stuff matters!

What do you mean "I don't get to play ME3 the way I wanted" as far as we know, the single player is still the way it was before. Unless you're going to argue that the fact that knowing multiplayer exists ruins the singleplayer experience, you have nothing to cry about.
If there's story based co-op related to the main story that in some way adds new story content, that can wreck the SP. If it's standalone MP, then there's just a concern of feature creep. But that's the same with any feature someone doesn't like.

Not excited about this at all and it makes no sense to add multiplayer into the last chapter of a trilogy. Sounds like another excuse to sell overpriced online "subscriptions" and map packs. Will be spending zero time on ME3 multiplayer.
The same here.

Well, grandpa says there's no sense getting angry about anything until all the facts are in. And even then, getting angry would be a waste of energy. He's been right about a lot of things in my life, so I gotta go with him on this too. He got me to playing ME in the first place. And I'm hoping there's no way that BW would end an excellent trilogy in a bad way.

(sorry for the double post)
it all depends on how they handle it, but yes, there're normally ways to avoid getting placed head to hed with really good players if you're a noob. Hopefully it won't end up being competitive, but yes, you should be able to find matches with players of equal skill level.

Eurogamer is reporting that the multiplayer will be separate from single player and will include a competitive component.
I don't know about that seeing as the job listing said they need someone to take existing single player systems and make them multiplayer safe. Bioware needs to clarify some of this stuff as soon as possible.
