Maybe MP will be on its own disc. Please, Bioware? PLEASE!?

Maybe this will be a DLC, since that's "option"?

Well that would be good too, 'cus then I wouldn't have to look at it in the menus.

Well, grandpa says there's no sense getting angry about anything until all the facts are in. And even then, getting angry would be a waste of energy. He's been right about a lot of things in my life, so I gotta go with him on this too. He got me to playing ME in the first place. And I'm hoping there's no way that BW would end an excellent trilogy in a bad way.

I've never played an MP before. How does that work? My understanding is you're playing on an 'online server'. So there wouldn't be anything I would need to load on my PC? And is there a server designated for new MP players so I wouldn't get bashed and kicked around by the one's that have been playing MP a lot?

(sorry for the double post)

it all depends on how they handle it, but yes, there're normally ways to avoid getting placed head to hed with really good players if you're a noob. Hopefully it won't end up being competitive, but yes, you should be able to find matches with players of equal skill level.

Thank you.  I weren't sure if anyone would catch my question.

Ok since I haven't posted this in the new thread I created a group, Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Support for the general discussion of multiplayer, implementation and as a resource to group up, exchange gamertags and the like. Check it out and join if interested!

I joined. I'm actually going to wait and see if I like the multiplayer content. I'm going to judge the single-player game independently. If the single player game ends up sucking, I'm not going to blame the multiplayer, I'm going to blame the writing. Since the writers are probably not moonlighting as multiplayer programmers, I'm going to assume that the quality of the one is not tied to the quality of the other.

Personally, I think this is one of the stupidest things they could have done at this late in the series. If they wanted MP they should have waited until the next ME game and integrated it fully into the series they would be starting then.

I will not cancel my CE game, but I will not be playing ME MP much or at all. Waste of time and effort Bioware.

Indeed.

Could've had ME3 by the end of the year, but nope. Some moron decided that multiplayer is the future of games and that all their games should have it, no matter how half-assed and generic it might be.

I know they polished the game and all, but I could've lived just fine without some generic multiplayer mode.

And if it's cool? I mean, wouldn't they leave it to the Montreal team for that reason? Because they didn't have time themselves to come up with a good/creative/fresh co-op?

When's the last time "cool" destroyed a game......

Even if the multiplayer is decent on its own right (yeah right), it just cheapens the experience to the extreme.

Do people that there is no way of knowing that multiplayer was the reason ME3 was held back, and definitely not because of all the major titles being released?

Are people stupid? Bioware are not "abandoning" single player. For goodness sake! Try to think rationally, would you?

While I'm not going to boycott ME3, I'm quite sure a lot of people will in light of this news. All that's left is origins clarification.

If bioware had not decided to add MP, I wonder if we would be getting the single player version of me3 next month like bioware originally planed.

Maybe. But then again, the singleplayer will benefit from extra 3 months of polish/worktime as well, since the multiplayer part is most likely done at separate studio anyway (BioWare Montreal)

It'll be alright, love. You'll see. <3

But *sniffles* I trusted her! She was the first of her kind that I grew to love! And then she...she betrays me! *weeps some more*

Turn the pain into something positive. You can come out of this stronger and tougher...and your friends will always have your back.

If it's cool then they've probably wasted even more resources on something I'm not going to use.

Try and think of it this way. Releasing it months later than originally intended mainly because of multiplayer isn't necessarily disregarding single-player. If Bioware Montreal are doing the work, then Edmonton aren't just going to leave ME3 sitting dormant whilst waiting for multiplayer to be finished. They WILL be working more on single-player still.

I'm skeptical about the multi-player itself but I don't worry about the state of single-player too much.

Yeah okay, you actually believe that they were just trying to make "a better quality product"?

My only concern is that the inclusion of MP will allow BW/EA to withhold some missions/planets/etc.. originally scheduled for the base game in favor of releasing it in the future as DLC. MP will add content to ME3, thus justifiying the purchase price and game-play length, which in turn lets them hold out other SP content for later purchase. $$$$$

It's been a busy day judging Bioware employees and sending them to Greed, getting pretty crowded, might have to dump some in Heresy, maybe Treachery? Satan must be pretty lonely down there.

Everything is under a deadlne Sian, so I wouldn't exactly blame the writers.

yes, me too.

But as long as it is only optional, I will buy ME3 and play it as SP. I guess, BW is testing the aceptance for the next ME-Games after Shepard.

I dont like the way it changed, especially PVP-Modus. I dont like this in MMOs too.
