While I'm not going to boycott ME3, I'm quite sure a lot of people will in light of this news. All that's left is origins clarification.

Anyone who'd seriously not buy ME3 because of this is either:

a. Someone who's lying and will buy it anyway or

b. Someone who never intended to buy it in the first place.

c. someone that preorder DA2 and get stabed in the back..........

d. Someone who has played all of Bioware's games and is disgusted how EA has tainted them.

The funny part of the MP announcement:

The ME fanbase doesn't want multiplayer.

305 people isn't the ME fanbase.  Not even every single poster on the official ME forums is the ME fanbase.

Not like it matters. Parts of the "fanbase" on other sites have voted against MP anyway.

Lol i'm sure bioware is regretting that the fans found out this way. Once all of BSN gets wind of this news, these forums will be hostile.

-Polite

I doubt that they are too concerned. I don't think we have very much impact on their peace and calm. I'm sure they don't have the BSN open in their browsers as they're working on the game, crying in their beer because people are prematurely spewing their rage all over the place. People have been doing that since the advent of the Internet. Impotent rage and whatnot were around back in the AOL days of the early 90s, when I first went online, and it will be around far into our digital future. It's pretty easy close a browser window and avoid the noise and haste.

Relax fellow RPGers, Skyrim is coming out this November and we will get to enjoy a long, quality RPG from a developer that isn't going to sellout.

Funny how ME3 is going to be saddled with a host of "features" that are largely unwanted, such as multiplayer, motion/voice control, Origin...

"Liara, take point!"

*game transfers to killcam of random krogan who just killed you*

Im really disapointed. We started of with RPG in both ME and DA now we have got a HacknSlash and an online multiplayer shooter.

Im really going off BW lately. Im not going to lie and say I wont get ME3. I will still pre order to finish Sheps story.

What I wont be doing is buying any more Bioware games without waiting for serious reviews and price drops. Gone are the days a Bioware game was an insta-preorder.

How is adding multiplayer selling out? I don't understand. 2 people who like mass effect can now play mass effect together. What is so bad about that?

Who are all so buying it anyway if they're still hanging around here, no matter how cool they think they're being by saying otherwise.

No, the casuals are not part of the fanbase. They're just casuals.

So? They're still a large part of the buyers.

This way of thinking didn't save Drageon Age II

Sellout? Skyrim is also geting streamlined as hell, your post is another good example of "didn't do research".

Do it for Shepard...he's waiting for you to tell him how this all ends. I believe in you. :wizard: The story must be told, and no MP element can take away from that. Have faith.

I'll try...

Well done. *offers chocolate*

I'll be buying it, but it's definitely going to be the last Bioware game I buy. If it wasn't for the story and characters, I probably would have dropped it after 2.

Sorry but small community called BSN =/= ME fanbase. Try harder.

Erg, you seem to be pretty oblivious to the world. Go to any gaming website or go to the facebook group. The ratios seem at a constant 80% don't want to 20% want.

Funny, here I thought multiplayer was an attempt to draw in NEW customers, not cater to the existing fanbase. Why wouldn't BioWare try to add features that would draw in new customers? This is a product, an item for sale, that is intended to generate revenue for the company. If this feature improves sales, it's a good thing for BioWare.

So losing their original fanbase to a bunch of CoD players and then having them eventually abandon them for MW4 is a good thing?

Not for us, maybe, but for them, sure. The bottom line is The Bottom Line, the number of units sold. We are obviously not a very loyal fanbase in the first place, since the mere announcement of a new feature is enough to get people to jump ship. So why cater to us?

If they weren't concerned, then Jessica Merizan and Michael Gamble wouldn't be trying to address our "concerns" as they called it. Yes they are very concerned, after dodging questions about multi for months only to have it leaked that it's in, and the fans getting angry over it. You may not want to admit it, but they will lose sales over this. It's guaranteed. Hopefully we'll get details on the multiplayer very soon. They said in the coming days, I'm just hoping that doesn't mean until the magazines come out.

Playing Mass Effect together with someone else is like playing WoW offline alone. What made you think a single player game loved for what it is would be better if it isn't what it was anymore?
