You might as well claim those who insist on reading books alone as being anti-social. I play Single Player by CHOICE, not because I can't get online. Don't you dare tell me I am playing a single player game wrong.Jonas TM wrote...

Yes, co-op MP missions for #ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon...
PHEEEEEEEW.
Phew? That sounds like the worst case scenario to me. Story oriented Co-Op? Great. <_< Now you either are forced to play online or get to miss part of the story.
Ok I didn't want to stoke the rage inferno, but REALLY? People are that anti-social that they refuse to participate in anything that involves other people?
I'm not willing to count the MP as good until I see it, but to completely dismiss it as garbage because anything MP is garbage reaks of... I don't even know what.
This is 2011, games have online multiplayer. Get some friends and play it, or don't. But chill out.

The principle is the same.DarkDragon777 wrote...
Um, because it's a lot harder to make a story for a (would'vebeen) long RPG than an RTS?
StarCraft's jewel in the crown is its multiplayer. Great effort was put into balancing everything, making it so damn playabe that there are televised tournaments of the friggin' thing over a decade after it was released. The single player was largely "tacked on," a mode for people not interested in multiplayer or didn't have an internet connection (hey, it was the 90s). But that campaign was really fun and challenging, the characters were memorable, the lore was rich, and the story was very strong and complex.
Ask any Battle.net member if they think the single-player detracts from the multiplayer.
Now, Mass Effect's baby is the singleplayer. All available efforts and resources were plugged into making it THE defining RPG series of the generation.
A year from now, when all of us have played it, most of us will probably be saying, damn, that was a helluva ride. Whether the multiplayer is good or bad is irrelevant, because a large portion of the "old" audience isn't interested.
And you know what I look forward to? The CoD boys who got bored with multiplayer one day, tried the single-player campaign, and discovered something they had no idea would be so damn good. After hearing about how the previous games change what happens in the last one (and how they're pretty much just as enjoyable), they'll go back, play ME1 and 2, and suddenly have one foot squarely in a genre they previous had zero interest in.
Think of it as a conversion tool to get all those pesky shooter fans to appreciate the clearly superior genre.

Perhaps if you waited to find out more in the first place, you wouldn't have suffered from the psychological meltdown that we've witnessed today.

Only Shattered Steel is an actual shooter. And that is with giant robots. Pew pew. Oh yeah and MDK2, but giant robots are way cooler.1136342t54 wrote...

Bioware has done multiplayer multiple times before. I'm sure they were small steps torwards Call of Duty also.
Pew pew.
Do we really want to convert them?Think of it as a conversion tool to get all those pesky shooter fans to appreciate the clearly superior genre.

Then don't play it.
Or I can be dissapointed that it's not competitive multiplayer, which I happen to like, and you can feel self important elsewhere.

The co-op missions wouldn't have a lot of conversations and wouldn't be part of the SP campaign?
So why would they be good? What's Bioware done which makes you think they can make a co-op shooter that's worth playing over the alternatives?

I'm pretty sure it's co-op same as most games. You don't have to miss part of the story (unless it's something along the lines of Portal 2, and even then I'm certain that it'll be split-screen. God help Bioware if they don't include split-screen.
I really, really dislike having to schedule fun. And generally finding people to play Co-Op with means just that, unless you're looking for randoms.
"Hey, wanna play co-op?"
"Sure let me just save and quit/put the game in."
"Awesome."
And then we laugh and laugh.

I'm saying some of the reasons people blame DA2 for being bad was due to bioware listening to some of BSN complaints.
Wait? The BSN wanted race selection and origins to be gone?
The BSN wanted no blood mage recognization?
The BSN wanted decisions not to matter at all?
The BSN wanted iconic outfits?
And we are supposed to take your posts seriously?
You know, you could find a post justifying or requesting each of those things as improvements.

Just because I am here tryping to you doesn't mean I want to PLAY games with you. I am sick of being told that only multiplayer gamers matter. If it means I had to play something else then so be it, but don't act like you are somehow superior because of it.Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...

Oh, FFS.
Ya know as much as I do that there is always going to be people like don-mika making such stupid comments as this. Soon as I saw the comment I just eyerolled.
As for the people whining about missing out on story as they have to go online. What are you doing right now? Are you not... online? Are you not... in a social environment? You are to both? Well then what is the issue?

source: www.computerandvideogames.com/307597/mass-effect-3-multiplayer-is-real-based-on-original-online-missions/A reliable development source has since informed CVG that the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer feature will be built around "original missions made for online", which will be totally unique from the solo campaign.
Our mole added there would "only be a handful" of co-op missions which have been created with the intention of being "played and played again".
Reports have suggested that the online offering will come in the form of a Horde-style mode, but our source was quick to play down the notion.
Bioware's Montreal studio is said to be behind the co-op side, and was seen to be recruiting for "multiplayer" staff last year.

People have been waiting through months of "It's a single player player game" just to have confirmation that those multiplayer rumors are true! I think people are bored of waiting for these sort of "surprises" and I don't blame them.

Bolded for emphasis. That implied to me that you dislike multiplayer in general. You are not forced to do anything. If you can't find someone else to play with (which I find very hard to believe, me and my firends have widely varying schedules and still find time to play L4D2 a few times a week) then don't play it. But don't blame it on Bioware for including it.
