I'm saying some of the reasons people blame DA2 for being bad was due to bioware listening to some of BSN complaints.

Wait? The BSN wanted race selection and origins to be gone?
The BSN wanted no blood mage recognization?
The BSN wanted decisions not to matter at all?
The BSN wanted iconic outfits?

And we are supposed to take your posts seriously?

Interesting. You pick specific things out that you disliked in DA2 that I never said BSN asked for. Stop acting like a little kid since I never even specified which things people asked for. Also note this isn't even what I stated before but other BSN members have said in there rage.

People wanted faster combat
They also wanted better inventory
Voices for the character etc.

Things like this and some other crap other have stated was things they didn't like and it was put in because of other BSN posters. Also note I never said those were bad things.

Now when did Bioware ever truly get blood mage recognition in any game? Even DAO it is only recognized by one demon no one else. So yes don't attack me on opinions that are not mine.

Heh, I admire your optimism, but I don't share it. But that has nothing to do with MP; I doubt co-op missions are really going to ruin anything.

To be honest, guys, not checking out the game just because it has multiplayer is like refusing to eat at a certain restaurant because they give you free mints after dinner.

Dude. It's a mint. Just leave it on the table if you don't want it and enjoy the real reason you came: for the damn meal.

^ this times a million.

I get the desire of not wanting a multiplayer for the fear that the development will somehow take from the single player experience. Granted, some games were arguably hurt by their implementation of multiplayer. However, this isn't always the case. Uncharted 2, for example, was just as awesome as the first one, and the attached multiplayer was pretty fun too. Honestly, if you loved ME2 and have seen the coverage from E3/PAX/Gamescon, I don't see any reason to think that Bioware will not deliver on ME3.

To the people that are saying that they're cancelling their pre-order because of the included multiplayer: Seriously, grow up. You're hanging out on the Mass Effect forums, which means that you're either a ME fan or a troll. And if you're a fan, are you seriously telling me that you are going to forego playing the conclusion of the trilogy because of the inclusion of multiplayer? That is sad. And if you kept your preorder, but just lied about cancelling it, that's even sadder.

I just hope BW realizes not everyone (including me) has XBOX live and thus, non-local co-op won't be a playable option.

So what are they? non campaign missions?

Of you've played the multiplayer in GRAW 2, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six or whatever, then I imagine it's going to be just that. In short, a completely separate, standalone component with its own missions and levels.

Well, so far, nothing I have learned has given me a reason to think the game will suck.

The co-op missions wouldn't have a lot of conversations and wouldn't be part of the SP campaign?

So why would they be good?  What's Bioware done which makes you think they can make a co-op shooter that's worth playing over the alternatives?

Did I say it would be good?  No.  I made a guess as to how they might work.  Anything else you think you read in my post is of your own invention.

And you know what I look forward to?  The CoD boys who got bored with multiplayer one day, tried the single-player campaign, and discovered something they had no idea would be so damn good.  After hearing about how the previous games change what happens in the last one (and how they're pretty much just as enjoyable), they'll go back, play ME1 and 2, and suddenly have one foot squarely in a genre they previous had zero interest in.

Think of it as a conversion tool to get all those pesky shooter fans to appreciate the clearly superior genre.

And when that happens Bioware will make more shooter games and less rpgs to please their new audience.  DA2 is evidence of Bioware trying to please "new fans"

Um, because it's a lot harder to make a story for a (would'vebeen) long RPG than an RTS?

The principle is the same.

StarCraft's jewel in the crown is its multiplayer.  Great effort was put into balancing everything, making it so damn playabe that there are televised tournaments of the friggin' thing over a decade after it was released.  The single player was largely "tacked on," a mode for people not interested in multiplayer or didn't have an internet connection (hey, it was the 90s).  But that campaign was really fun and challenging, the characters were memorable, the lore was rich, and the story was very strong and complex.

Ask any Battle.net member if they think the single-player detracts from the multiplayer.

Now, Mass Effect's baby is the singleplayer.  All available efforts and resources were plugged into making it THE defining RPG series of the generation.

A year from now, when all of us have played it, most of us will probably be saying, damn, that was a helluva ride.  Whether the multiplayer is good or bad is irrelevant, because a large portion of the "old" audience isn't interested.

That would only matter if future games from Bioware HAVE single player. We have Diablo III as an example of what can happen, with single player gameplay was all but gutted and treated like it is a tutorial for multiplayer.

I'm not sure how you and your friends work, but for me playing co-op in games is essentially this:
"Hey, wanna play co-op?"
"Sure let me just save and quit/put the game in."
"Awesome."

And then we laugh and laugh.

When you're in a professional program and keeping up with your studying means 9:9 weekdays (excluding things like clinics, other hobbies, etc.), you have to schedule your fun.

I think we will get to play Alliance soldiers defending Earth in co-op, Horde style. Or something quite similar.

Or I can be dissapointed that it's not competitive multiplayer, which I happen to like, and you can feel self important elsewhere.

I feel self important for giving you sane advice? You've been on BSN WAY too long.

Perhaps if you waited to find out more in the first place, you wouldn't have suffered from the psychological meltdown that we've witnessed today.

Lmao, I know, right?  This thread is now the insane channel [<-- epilepsy warning]

I have no problem with multi-player for ME3...not my kind of thing, but no big deal...

The thing that's killing it for me is that this pretty much means Origin is going to be forced down my throat if I want to play ME3 at all. I'm NOT going to download Origin for anything!

Phew? That sounds like the worst case scenario to me. Story oriented Co-Op? Great. <_< Now you either are forced to play online or get to miss part of the story.

Bolded for emphasis.  That implied to me that you dislike multiplayer in general.  You are not forced to do anything.  If you can't find someone else to play with (which I find very hard to believe, me and my firends have widely varying schedules and still find time to play L4D2 a few times a week) then don't play it.  But don't blame it on Bioware for including it.

It sounds to me that he would want to enjoy this game as a single-player experience and thus not with other people when he play it. Can you honestly blame him for that? Nothing points towards an inherent lack of anyone to play with. Other people just breaks the feel of the game since it is so central around Shepard (your character). Suddenly we get Mr. Noname tagging along on a mission for no reason at all.

Not really.  When sales start to go up for older games, people will start realizing there's a market for this sh*t.

That and all the blowback from DA2 should learn 'em good.

Now that I know its co-op though, I bet there are co-op achievements.
