This was my main reason for no multiplayer. If you tell me this co-op thingy won't involve having to join some chat full of obnoxious pricks then in that case it's alright.

Are there really 80 other people named "iloveTali"?

Dear God EA, please don't let this be another DA2.

If this turns out to be another DA2 I'm done with Bioware.

The single player campaign better not be shorter or less satisfying than the single player campaigns in ME1 or ME2.

Seeing as they've said it's the same length as ME2 but more replayable, and that what we've seen so far suggest Bioware Montrel (not Edmonton, who make the Mass Effect games) are working on it, it seems likely the campaign will be the same length as ME2, if not longer.

That would only matter if future games from Bioware HAVE single player. We have Diablo III as an example of what can happen, with single player gameplay was all but gutted and treated like it is a tutorial for multiplayer.

You know that in Diablo II the singleplayer was exactly the same as the muliplayer except the ability to play it with other players, right? Just like in Diablo II, if you start a private match and don't inivte anyone else, there's no difference except you can use the same character for multiplayer too.  If you don't have any friends or are determined to play alone, just do that.

I play bioware games for the single player. I will wait till release to judge, but I just can't take advantage of online aspects very easily. I can sneak my xbox to a friends house to download DLC and updates, but I just can't take advantage of any online multiplayer since my own internet is capped and slow.

I'm not saying it is, but if singleplayer suffers for this for whatever reason, I might be done with Bioware. I'm not saying it out of spite or anything, I will still love bioware, but if they are going to risk this by putting multiplayer into the last entry of a single player trilogy (Even ubisoft montreal decided to test it out on a spinoff rather than a full entry) then what else can I do?

I really hope my fears are unfounded and I am just whining for no reason. Here's to hoping.

Here's hoping single player doesn't suffer. Some games just don't need multiplayer tacked on to it. Bioshock 2 was a good example.

Le sigh.

It is going to suffer, because we can't mod the game.

Hopefully, we can change preferences to FRIENDS ONLY or something.

This takes me back...

I remember when everyone was like "OMG we can play together?! As a team?! I can play with my friends?! Wicked! *head explodes*"

How times have changed.

Eh, couldn't have a picked a worst time could they?

Well, I'm staying optimistic. There's not much longer to wait, and I won't let this spoil it for me.

No reason to cancel a pre-order. But one thing for sure, between the Dragon Age 2 debacle and now this... I've had it. This news only reinforces what I've been thinking for months now: I no longer want to support this company. I will buy ME3 to finish what I started in 2007, and then I will move on. No more Bioware for me thank you very much !

Who knows? And wha if there isn't? He's allowed to call himself Tali81 if he wants to. Or Tali34. Or maybe even Tali98. I'm okay with that. How about you? Are there really 1119 other people called didymos? Are there? Do you know? I honestly wouldn't surprise me. The internet is a crazy place. Didymos... what a name. Didy.. mos. Heh. Amazing, isn't it? How do you come up with that stuff? How was your day?

I really hope that singleplayer doesn't suffer from this. I know, I know, people will argue that just because 30% goes into making multiplayer doesn't mean that singleplayer will only get 70% attention. However, in most cases, a shift toward muliplayer does indeed mean that the singleplayer mode does get less polish and attention. The only game I've personaly played that kept both flawless/polished singleplayer and while adding multiplayer was Uncharted 2.

Here's to hoping Bioware gives us 100% singleplayer, with the added (optional) 30% multiplayer. I'll probably just try the multiplayer once or twice, never been an multiplayer kind of guy, at least not with shooters and such... We'll see.

My only wish is that the singleplayer doesn't suffer. Please Bioware, a simple prayer that you don't crush the last chapter of Mass Effect's singleplayer campaign.

I dream the day when Mass Effect series will get its own toolset, it will be glorious :innocent:

I can't think of any sphere of endeavor where catering to the lowest common denominator is a good idea.

Prove me wrong, Bioware.

Please prove me wrong.

I'm saying some of the reasons people blame DA2 for being bad was due to bioware listening to some of BSN complaints.

Wait? The BSN wanted race selection and origins to be gone?
The BSN wanted no blood mage recognization?
The BSN wanted decisions not to matter at all?
The BSN wanted iconic outfits?

And we are supposed to take your posts seriously?

The BSN wanted faster combat - the devs overcompensated, but we got what we asked for.
The BSN initially didn't like all the brown of DA:O - look out, the brighter color palette of DA2 offended some people.
The BSN wanted better graphics - whether or not it meets your particular standards, they succeeded in some ways, if not others.
The BSN wanted more challenging combat - and then they complained about the assassins, etc.

Are we supposed to take your posts seriously?

The devs did take feedback into account after DA:O, and while their implementation of certain changes weren't entirely successful, don't try to pass off your questions as a rebuttal. I can list things in DA2 that the BSN clearly did influence, just like you can throw out complaints about things "we" didn't want.
