Co-op ain't that bad actually.
So, these are our 4 pre-defined co-op characters on the cover? Or just examples of how we can create our own co-op avatars? Can we customize race/armor/appearance?
*pic snip*
I really hope there is customization involved. If the co-op are pre-defined scenarios and characters it would wear out pretty fast.

You know that in Diablo II the singleplayer was exactly the same as the muliplayer except the ability to play it with other players, right? Just like in Diablo II, if you start a private match and don't inivte anyone else, there's no difference except you can use the same character for multiplayer too. If you don't have any friends or are determined to play alone, just do that.VallenValiant wrote...
That would only matter if future games from Bioware HAVE single player. We have Diablo III as an example of what can happen, with single player gameplay was all but gutted and treated like it is a tutorial for multiplayer.
Blizzard made it clear in their offical statements that DIII are only for two kinds of people; those who play single player in Easy difficulty and then quit, or those who play multiplayer. This is from a Blizzard employee in their own forum.
"Followers will not stay alive easily past Normal, and
if they're not alive you aren't going to be getting their bonuses. I'm
sure people will try to game this, and ideally they will fail. If not we
will ensure followers are not part of the end-game MF equation. They
are not intended to be, and we will take whatever steps are necessary to
ensure they cannot be.
"
http://forums.battle...d=3000&pageNo=2
"Followers fit in with that 'average' use of games
very well, but their intent is to also help people expand beyond their
initial intent of beating it on Normal, and then shelving the game. If
the followers can get a player excited about co-op because they like
playing with another character, that's a win. We also think they just
add a lot to the experience up front, which is important.
"
I remember when I was actually happy about Diablo 3. Blizzard sure hates players like me.

Guess we now know for certain that in reality Bioware have to bend over backwards for EA and do everything they say.
First we have the butchers job that was ME2 in order to appease the 10 second attention span CoD kiddies and now we have the multiplayer that Bioware always catagorically denied was ever going to happen. ( Untill the sudden announcement that the game was going to be delayed to add 'new' content and polish. From which point all denial was also suddenly absent. )
Still unsure if i'm going to buy ME3, but If I do it's only going to be to finish off Shepards story and will very probably be the last Bioware game I ever buy.
The name Bioware used to mean something but now it's just the name of a generic games company.

Also people cancelling their pre-orders because it has multiplayer......... really grow up
Usually when a previously single player game tacks on multiplayer in a sequel, the end result is a disappointing and less polished single player experience. There are exceptions to every rule of course but that is generally the case. With that in mind, the people who are worried about how the multiplayer announcement affects the single player game have a legitimate concern.
Why should I continue with my pre-order? If I want to gamble with my money I'll go down to the Casino. In fact I'll probably get better odds at the Blackjack table, considering how often tacked on multiplayer has resulted in a disappointing single player game.
I'd advise anyone who is more interested in the single player aspect of Mass Effect 3 to cancel their pre-orders and wait for reviews before deciding whether to buy new or used.
go and play Assassins Creed Brotherhood. The game was better than the last 2 Assassins Creed games and the multiplayer was awesome.
When the server worked <_<
Yeah, ACB multiplayer is pretty fun, but it sucks that it takes forever to get into any games.

Pretty sure it's their money and they can do what they want with it. If they don't want to pre-order even if had no reason at all they are free to do so.
I won't be pre-ordering either in fact may not buy it until hit's bargain basement prices because I'm cheap but after ME3 nothing Bioware has lined up for the next 4 years really interests me at all and I am in no way a fan of the direction they are heading; in which case that 4 years may turn into forever regarding no more money from me. In other words if someone has doubts about a product regardless of what caused those doubts they are entitled to cancel whatever order they want and in turn I think you need to grow up or atleast realise this.

60% of BSN prefer ME2, 40% of BSN prefer ME1. As shown through multiple polls. Also, most professional critics and non bioware fan boys prefer ME2 as well.
Face it, the 10 second attention span CoD kiddies make up most BSN fan base. How obnoxious are you ME1 fanboys, lol.

Other than DA2 (which I enjopyed) I don't see a reason not to give them the benefit of the doubt. If it sucks, don't play it. I guarantee there will be a detailed story write-up within hours of it going live.

.......Are you serious?
Co-Op is a GOOD thing. SO much better than freaking competitive multiplayer
Personally, Im ok with it as long as it doesnt affect the single player. I can see Co-Op working quite well actually. Its was completely plausible to see Co-Op done in the ME1&2. While the news took me by surprise, I actually support it. Heard it over at G4 today [a VERY trusted gaming news studio].
BW knows what they're doing. Have some faith ppl. From what we've heard, the single player campaign is going to be awe-inspiring and just pure EPIC. I sure this new lil feature wont affect the campaign at all.
BTW - One last thing to add : DIBS ON GARRUS!!!!

I disagree on the last point, thermal clips is a good design decision that ups the shooter gameplay with no impact on the RPG gameplay.

I can't believe Bioware has done this to their supporters, after all the threads and polls that were created they still get the impression that multiplayer will bring in more fans and improve our perception of Mass Effect 3? The Old Republic is already there for multiplayer fans, there's no need to botch the singleplayer campaign by adding time to the development cylce just to add multiplayer. Imagine if that time could be spent fixing bugs, adding weaponry, adding dialogue, adding bonus missions, etc?
The singleplayer will probably be rushed then after the release they'll throw out DLC willy-nilly in hopes of patching up a broken game... kind of like what lots of people thought of Dragon Age 2.
I'll tell you one thing Bioware, if you don't add some sort of Multiplayer-Singleplayer hybrid (ie: not adding 'exclusive' levels to co-op players) or some variation of 'horde mode' (but with husks or something) that can be played solo you will have lost a supporter to another company who stays true to their roots, such as Eidos.<_<
And let's not forget the disgraceful DRM that's sure to be included in the PC versions of Mass Effect 3 just because multiplayer is now included on a previously singleplayer game

"Normal is super easy. It's intentionally super easy.
You will die, but you can essentially slap on gear and not think too
much about it, and probably beat the game without too much trouble.
There will be many people though that will get a good amount of damage
and utility by keeping their follower along. But, realistically people
aren't going to actively refuse the help of a follower as they play
through the game the first time.
