Not me. That isn't to say I'm exactly happy about this, but I don't believe it warrants a pre-order cancellation.

Like I said in the other thread, if it's completely standalone and has no visible effects on the story mode, then all power to it.

What are they doing, spiking their kool aid with acid? Dude, I'm seriously considering canceling the pre-order. Still need all the facts before I hang it up.

I was deciding between digital and box version anyway, so just continue "wait and see" mode.

So going by that cover, it's 4-way co-op(disappointing as I was hoping they would limit it to 3 for story purposes). Also Wrex as a squadmate seems more likely in addition to two new (human it seems) squadmates.

"I hated me2, da2 , now you do this. To hell with you and your company."

From a fan on Twitter. Not a fan of MP but some reactions are hilarious.

Well, yeah, I'd say the "Official XBOX Magazine" hasn't published as many rumour mill stories as other magazines have been prone to doing, but the more credible source was a reference to the Tweet by BioWare. No offense was intended ^_^

Now that it's confirmed by a more credible magazine, lets move on over there.

NOBODY.  People just love to ****.  They'll buy the game so they can poke at it and continue to ****.  All the while loving what BW has created.

What can I say: "Told ya so". Let the drama begin.

There was a frenzy last night. I was priveleged to witness it. :wizard:

Was this morning for me before work *sigh* I just want to know what sort of MP it is so I either run for the hills for being called a noob or if its something I can do with my sister. As I said in the old thread we should do a thread closer to the time for those you want to play with fellow BSN'ers or a group. :wizard:

Multiplayer could be really awesome. I don't get why people are so negative about it while they don't even know what it will be like. To all those right now saying that multiplayer ruins the game and that you won't play it; I want you to keep that promise. Because I'd like to see your faces when multiplayer turns out to be good.

It does seem a rather unnecessary add-on to a single-player franchise. I just hope and pray that the SP campaign is a separate experience.

Only one game mode?! Are you sure bioware? Think of the cod fans and the amount of money you could be earning, can't have multiplayer without the 3 basic game modes: tdm, ctf and king of the hill.

Sources have told Eurogamer that Mass Effect 3 includes an online enabled co-op mode that is standalone and features competitive elements. We understand BioWare Montreal was creating a multiplayer Mass Effect experience, either as a standalone game or component of Mass Effect 3.

If this is true then it means the SP is unaffected - MP is seperate and a seperate studio is developing the MP (I'm pretty sure Bioware Montreal isn't the one doing ME3).

This brings me some piece of mind. My only objection to MP was that it would take away from the SP because I'd rather BW spend time making things nice and shiny (and checking those darn import flags!).

I don't play MP, but as long as my SP isn't affected, I don't really care.

There's nothing to worry about - they put a different studio on MP and delayed the game to ensure that both SP and MP were up to scratch. The SP will be unaffected.

OK, whatever.  It's moot at this point anyway.

It's a bit of a paradox, the only people who care enough to get outraged over this are the most obsessed fans of all, and their is no way they're going to miss this, coem hell or highwater.

Me. REALLY. I'll wait for this MP "Element" to be clarified. But it's not looking good. Why take a **** on millions of fans since 2007 instead of waiting for the next game for MP?

To be honest the Multiplayer isn't a "pre-order" cancelling event.  I would ordinarily just ignore the crappy shoe horned in multiplayer rubbish that game companies force on us these days.  However since I am a PC gamer this makes the likelihood of Mass Effect 3 using Origin even greater.  Now being forced to install Origin on my PC is a deal breaker, I refuse to have anything to do with that pile of spyware from EA.

So I haven't cancelled my pre-order yet over the multiplayer announcement but I am waiting to see if it will require Origin to play.  The minute it has been clarified that Origin is needed then Bioware can say goodbye to my £70.
