I know the immediate reaction by some is to panic and think of how this will ruin the Mass Effect series or whatever. PLEASE do not over react or assume the worst until you actually hear details on this feature and how it will work. I will try to get approval to give you details so you can make up your minds with the correct details. Marketing's plan was to announce on Wednesday, but I'll see if I can speed this up.
Well here's a quest I know the answer to, will this somehow get around the need for XBOX Live Gold? I know it doesn't. I don't subscribe to Gold because I don't play online enough to warrant that bill. So basically people like me will be out of game content we paid for correct? Unless of course this isn't only online.
I also have to wonder if the inclusion of this serves as nothing but a means for another source of revenue. I get the feeling there wont be a lack of co-op map DLC. Obviously this isn't "a gift" to the fanbase, as the audience has been quite resistant to see MP added, I can only view it as an opportunity to create revenue.

Obviously an imposter. The real Chris Priestly knows this is never going to happen. We are the BSN! We Rage Without Having All The Facts. It's what we do. We prefer to rage over unsubstantiated rumors, but we're willing to rage over incomplete, premature announcements if there are no unsubstantiated rumors available.

So, until you learn the details, I urge people to have cautious optimism or wary negativity until you get the real details. Thanks everyone. Stay tuned.
I'm willing to wait. But I have little hope. I will need a lot of convincing at this pont. The way this has been handled was not condusive to building trust with me. My negativity at this pont is very wary indeed.
You mean BW not saying anything at all and the fans going bonkers on they're own? Yeah, we have the blame for it sounding bad, not them.
Damn BSN.....
You are missing a few facts mate.

I just had a best idea ever. What if we can play as Nigel Fish'N Chips & friends and defend the Big Ben asn in the trailer while Shep is coming back to Earth? :OOO
I am sure this is what co-op's gonna be. A separate non-Shepard battle for Earth (and the other homeworlds maybe) set whilst the singleplayer is taking place. Maybe narrated by Anderson, as he's staying on Earth. I'm betting there is no multiplayer in the Shepard campaign.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

Vertigo_1 says that the latest confirmation was during Comic Con:

"We couldn't find a way that didn't compromise the Mass Effect single player experience."
While I'm not jumping to hysterics, but as an English teacher IRL, this tells me that either this was a lie through omission type of thing, or he is basically saying "Multiplayer has compromised the single player experience." Funny and sad, either way, though we obciously knows what he means.
I never asked for this. A delay. First Kinect, now mp coop. It's coming, will almost deffinitely require Origin so this mode better be fun at least. I don't wanna be disappointed on this game. Bioware, don't fail me.

Indeed you agree with me. And? Your point being?
Well the point quite obviously is that just because you lie it doesn't automatically make you untrustworthy. Or do you consider yourself untrustworthy? If you do, why are you pointing the finger at someone else?
But as a untrustworthy person, you should be more understanding. Birds of a feather, right?

In which case, the game would have been release on time rather than delayed.
Or, at least, that's what you assume would have happened.

Why would I change my mind? Its bad enough we were lied to, but to announce it without any clarifying details doesn't exactly affirm me toward the feature.
Oh for Christ's sake!

Already has. Completaly ignoring the fact that Chris works for BW/EA and will never say anything bad about the games and they're experimental features.

Judging by how many went "Oh, wait...what? Co-op? Oh, well, that's different then", I'm gonna say your guess is wrong.

Most likely we won't be using characters from single player but our own created Mass Effect characters with different classes/races, like on the cover.Rip504 wrote...

Not likely. I just don't see this working without taking out/revamping like almost everything for it to even work right. I am more curious on how they will do it though.DuckSoup wrote...

I don't think anyone is going to play Shepard in these co-op missions.
I think Big Ben sniper is a clue - and I think that you'll make new characters (or have pre-gens) that you play in battles on Earth - and then maybe the achievements you make in these battles will transfer benefits to your Shepard.

It better not detract from the quality of the real game. ME3 is the make or break game for my relationship with Bioware. DA2 was strike one. Watch yourself Bioware. I want us to remain on good terms.

Yes, we were lied to. They said early on that ME3 will not have any kind of Multiplayer, and all of a sudden it has Co-op, which is a form of multiplayer, from whichever angle you look at it.DuckSoup wrote...

I know you guys are smart enough to realize that this game does not need any kind of co-op. You are taking money and resources away from making a better Single player game on wasted MP that I am sure will come up in the Raptr stats as played for teh equivalent of one hour or so. Wasted effort or something the majority of your fan base does not want and does not care about.
We have a multi-player Bioware game called Star Wars: The Old Republic. This is Mass Effect and Mass Effect does not need this crap.
I see EA has struck again....
