All the leakes rumors seem to be turning out true which would mean co-op mission are completly standalone experience from SP game, possibly even post-launch DLC.Ghost Lightning wrote...
So he said 4 player co-op. So that probably means it won't be the actual main game you only have 3 in a squad so at least it won't mess with the story (I hope).

Or amybe it's trying to allay fears of the whole "4 sheps running around" idea but yeah, just keep on being hysterical, there's no need to be rational at all in fact maybe you should consider sacrifices because clearly the great god xenu is returning and we all need to prepare for his wrath of fire.Vice-Admiral von Titsling wrote...
Also I'd like to take note of the whole 'We'll address your concerns' 'It's not as bad as you think' phrasing right off the bat.
They KNOW we don't want multiplayer, they simply don't give a damn. We are not their target audience anymore; the mythical 'CoD crowd' is who they're trying to attract. Presumably because they are easier to relieve of their money? Not sure there. Apparently 4+ million sales just isn't good enough for Bioware anymore.
I'm going to miss my FemShep, but I can take a hint that I'm not wanted anymore.

You are missing a few facts mate.
Like? You forgot to point them out. If you don't defend you're claim, it's worth nothing.
It's been the fans who've been going around saying MP would suck and it takes from the vanilla game, as if they're all computing experts who also work at BW.
Missing facts? No, it's as sad as it sounds. First 30 pages? All hate and rage. Who posted in them? Fans. Based on? Other fan opinions.
Stop being in denial and just deal with it.

Why the hell should I exile myself when other people lie? My point stands; I will believe what Bioware says when I see it. Their words are no good anymore. Especially since people in this very forum try to justify it as normal activity.
Because you shouldn't believe your government when they say they will protect you. Hell you shouldn't believe anyone in law enforcement or emergency services since they all likely lie. You also shouldn't believe doctors or nurses when they say they will help you. Everyone lies and everyone is distrustful meaning you can't trust anyone period.

Yes, we were lied to. They said early on that ME3 will not have any kind of Multiplayer, and all of a sudden it has Co-op, which is a form of multiplayer, from whichever angle you look at it.DuckSoup wrote...

Now let's watch everyone change their opinion on the matter because Chris Priestly has posted.
Why would I change my mind? Its bad enough we were lied to, but to announce it without any clarifying details doesn't exactly affirm me toward the feature.
You weren't lied to.
This.

I know the immediate reaction by some is to panic and think of how this will ruin the Mass Effect series or whatever. PLEASE do not over react or assume the worst until you actually hear details on this feature and how it will work. I will try to get approval to give you details so you can make up your minds with the correct details. Marketing's plan was to announce on Wednesday, but I'll see if I can speed this up.
Well here's a quest I know the answer to, will this somehow get around the need for XBOX Live Gold? I know it doesn't. I don't subscribe to Gold because I don't play online enough to warrant that bill. So basically people like me will be out of game content we paid for correct? Unless of course this isn't only online.
I also have to wonder if the inclusion of this serves as nothing but a means for another source of revenue. I get the feeling there wont be a lack of co-op map DLC. Obviously this isn't "a gift" to the fanbase, as the audience has been quite resistant to see MP added, I can only view it as an opportunity to create revenue.
That's not their fault though. It's the MS's policy. I'd like if they overcome the Live Gold thing, but I doubt it. And I think it's highy unlikey that they're going to do a 4 coop offline.

Despite having some strange feelings about DA2, I bought it, and everything they had reassured us it wasn't, it was.
I only hope it won't happen this time. You can fall once and it is a mistake. You fall twice and it is not a mistake anymore.

Oh well. I hope single player campaign won't suffer. Won't play coop anyway even if it is good - I'm not int that kind of thing.

Hopefully X and Y have nothing to do with Kinect.
Here is hoping that one of them are mod tools.

That's not true at all. If they left out multiplayer then they'd have two full pools just for single player. So of course they sacrificed for MP.DuckSoup wrote...
Oh god, not the resource argument again *facepalm*
Again, we have no idea what resources or budgets Bioware had when it came to this game. Maybe they had one really, really full pool? Maybe they had two teams with two full pools?
Until you've played the game, you can't comment on whether they have sacrificed anything for the addition of MP.
If the game had no multiplayer, then EA wouldn't hand over a second pool, that simple. Game resource allocation does not work like a Starcraft match.
But it doesn't matter how many people tell you this (even the devs of this very game), you just can get it through your thick skulls.

You KNOW the fans don't want multiplayer. Seriously, ****** off with your platitudes. Just be goddamn honest and say "Hey RPG nerds, we know you don't want MP, but screw you and buy our game anyway. We promise not to dick you over like we did with DA2. PROMISE."
Don't waste my time.
I like MP and want MP in ME3. I've been playing Me since the 1st one. Shut up and stop generalizing. These forums aren't the only feedback BW has on they're games. Not even 10% of the fans lurk here.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone. I am at my inlays having dinner, so ma typing this on an iPhone. Excuse the larger than usual amounts of spelling errors.
As mentioned by Casey on Twitter, we are confirming that there will be 4 player Co-op multiplayer missions for Mass Effect 3. We will have more details on this feature on Wednesday when the announcement was supposed to be made.
I know the immediate reaction by some is to panic and think of how this will ruin the Mass Effect series or whatever. So, until you learn the details, I urge people to have cautious optimism or wary negativity until you get the real details. Thanks everyone. Stay tuned.
Of course, Chris. Looking forward to the update.

Everyone thought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was a cheap multi-player cash-in. It ended up having a really deep, fun, story-driven campaign, and an unusual, but super fun multiplayer that didn't effect the story and had a reasonable in-universe explanation for happening (Templar recruit training).
I hope ME3 goes the same route. Not sure who I'll be playing with though as have very few (= none) RL gamer friends.
This but many seem to ignore the existence of Assassins Creed and assume Bioware is run by a group of incompetent chimps who are incapable of making a game.

Will SP powers be altered to "balance" for MP? No.
Will enemies? No.
Squadmates? No.
You know this for fact? 1 SHepard +2 NPC squadmates compared to up to four PCs won't require balancing?
WIll any missions or dialogue or plotlines in SP be left out because they can't shoehorn everything and MP onto the disks? No, they most likely finished all of that before starting work on the MP, for that exact reason.
Will missing features be relegated to paid DLCs because of this? No. There will probably be paid DLC anyway, though.
You sure about that? Even purely single playergames that don't feel the need to add MP often have to leave stuff on the cutting room floor.
Again, you know this for certain? I seem to recall Diablo 3 will require an online connection for its single player campaign. Will I have to have an online connection to play SP? To install and activate it, yes, like Steam. You can run Origin in offline though, so overall, no.
Will I need Origin just to play my Shepard? [color=rgb(255, 0, 0)">Probably.
And I assume that you, like me, consider the idea of requiring Origin to run a single player game is... not a good thing?
WIll ME3 be an "okay"40 hour game when it could have been an extraordinary 50 hour game, because of resource/space limitations? It would either have been a great, if unpolished, SP game coming out in November, or a great polished SP game with an extra co-op feature coming out in March. You choose.
I'm not talking about time to polish. I'm talking about single player stuff getting bumped in favor of multiplayer due to limitations of resources and available disk space. I have no problem with taking a few extra months to polish ME3. The Enkindlers know ME2 could have used it.
Here, look, I've answered that for you.
No, you speculated. Just like I did. You were just more oprimistic about it.

True. I misspoke. However, my point stands. To many like me MP even CO-OP is a useless feature that won't be touched by me. Having it on the disk not only takes up space but every time I look at the menu screen I'll have the MP option staring me in the face. It sounds dramatic but I really have grown to detest MP.challenger18 wrote...

Errrr, just like everything else...if you don't like that aspect of the game....don't play it....it's that simple.
But you're not spending more money on it to begin with.
