How has no one noticed that it says "AN multiplayer element"?

Does it tell us anything other than whoever runs official ME twitter made a grammar mistake?

Well, if ME3's SP is at all shorter or shallower than the previous games', we'll know the reason why.

To people who don't approve of multiplayer give it a chance, don't jump to conclusions.

Its quite easy to jump to conclusions.   Experimentation of multiplayer on a single player trilogy sound nothing more then a mediocre experience and a way to drive sales.   Bioware dont have the experience of games where multiplayer is the driving force. I think its wishful thinking to assume it will be up to the quality of Gears, Halo, CoD or anything similar.  Especially when ME Single Player combat isnt that unique or robust anyway.

I hope im wrong, as I said earlier I will wait for more info. We know nothing of it right now. I am not optimistic on the whole thing though.

No one really wanted this, BioWare.

But I still have faith in you that this actually turns out to be an interesting multiplayer mode. You did that for previous games so let's not make this a lame deathmacht or horde mode. You can do better.

I did. *flameshields up*

i wonder if they would sell a cheaper version of the game without MP , i say becouse im just not going to use it so why i should botther paying for it?, maybe they put the mp as an dlc.....

i keep thinking that this was a waste of resource, but that is my opinion and its as valid as any other!!

You're probably being sarcastic but seriously if this makes it go twice as fast I'm all for it...

I can't believe people are willing to give up finishing Shepard's story over this.

Oh don't kid yourself. They'll still finish it with the special *CE.

Or a calibration-mini-game where we get to calibrate some random stuff and say "I'm busy" to other people online.

It wil probably be something small, like online co-op or horde mode or something like spec-ops from call of duty. A bit like object rho. The way the classes and gameplay work don't suit red vs blue (heey, renegade vs paragon anyone?) matches. Think about it... Every class would be extremely anoying to play against.
And with the husks 'n all, horde mode would be pretty awesome, no?

 Wow ...

... making a game with supposedly branching story, which reflects hundreds of smaller or larger choices made in prequels, certain form of multiplayer and still trying to improve all gameplay and non-gameplay elements of predecessors, all that within slightly more than two years, while some of direct competitors are willing to spend much more time (approx. 4 years in case of Deus Ex HR and Witcher 2) is not a small task.

But, so far, so good from what I have seen... Either way good luck Mass Effect team (or teams).;)

Absolute disgrace, After the pathetic offering that was Dragon Age 2 and now they alienate their hardcore corwd by introducing something the majority of us do not want is a disgrace. Every game news site i have seen (Gameinformer, xbox360achievements) the comments are littered with dissapproval and disappointed. ARE YOU REALLY THIS OUT OF TOUCH WITH YOUR AUDIENCE BIOWARE? Youu use to be a developer i admired and loved, now you are just another developer creating mediocre games. You cannot hold a candle to Bethesda and CDPR these days.

I'm going to hold off judgment until I get concrete details on what the MP aspect entails. Personally I wouldn't mind if it ends up being co-op similar to Resident Evil 5, where a buddy can jump into the main campaign and take control of a party member. If it's competitive I'll need to be thoroughly convinced of its implementation before I start to care about it I'm cancelling my pre-order.

Pretty much sums up how I feel. I'd love a Mass Effect Muliplayer Game. It would be epic. But NOT FOR MASS EFFECT 3 THE END OF THE GODDAMN TRILOGY THAT"S STOLEN MY LIFE SINCE 2007

/fanrage

Seriously though. I feel like I was just ****ted on by Bio Ware.

not like this.they always ride on there high horse saying its a single player experience. then turn around and betray real fans that was there from the start so they can bring in cod fans. that a sellout to me

Oh, now we're seeing the "real fans" card being played.

You'd assume that a 'real fan' would give Biwoare the chance to reveal what the MP actually is and why they put it in. I don't believe that anyone that says they're cancelling their preorders based on MP they know nothing about was ever a true fan.

Meh. The promise of the single player game in ME3 already seemed great to me. I don't see how MP will have much of an adverse effect on that.

This kinda reminds me of how Bioware tried to cram loads of stuff in DA2. And they failed miserably.

I swear, ME3 better not give us a sh*tty ending to Shepard's story.

I hope they go in a direction with MP similar to what Ubisoft did with Assassins Creed. People didn't think MP would work in that game at all, and it actually ended up being very unique and fun and fitting with the game.

I'm just worried because I think MP in any form does not jive with the strengths of Mass Effect. Even though combat was improved in 2, its still no where close to something like Gears or Halo. The strengths of Mass Effect...story, characters, atmosphere, soundtrack, dialogue...simply do not translate to multiplayer.

I just don't see any way it can work, and even if they do figure something clever out, who's going to play it? They aren't going to see huge MP numbers. People don't buy Mass Effect for its action, they buy it for the story and single player experience. If there's MP in ME3, why should I play it when I have Gears 3 (a near perfect MP experience, thanks to years of polish and established, fun gameplay)?

Introducing MP into ME3 just seems like a forced move to me. Does BW really want this? Is this what they envisioned when they were in pre-production for ME1? BW has zero track record in making MP games. They're just starting to figure out how to make a half decent shooter than is controllable and coherent. ME3 is probably the biggest, most anticipated game BW has ever made. Multiplayer seems like an unneccessary addition that could bog down valuable resources.

My feelings exactly.

It's not like you can't just buy it on release, or wait a bit longer and get it cheaper.

Personally, I'll pre order if I can get it for £25 including all meaningful day one DLC.
