Hey guys,

i met the suspicious guard in Amaranthine and i wonder which is the best.To kill the dark wolf and let the conspiracy set me their trap or to pay him the 60 sovereigns, get the location and go find them and kill them??I wish i knew what's best for the plot and my party experience, also the equipment i get.

Check the wiki for loot. I think the question you should be asking is: What would your Warden do? That answer is best for the plot.

Would he/she hire a spy?
Would he/she try to bring this wolf in?
So forth.

I don't think any gear you get either way is that big of a deal and same for experience. You may get slightly more one way or the other, but still, it's small beans.

If we say that the dark wolf wants to help me and a new location is opening on the map so i destroy the conspiracy by my self then i would do.But it is the same thing for me if i make him attack me (because 60 sovereigns is a fortune) telling him that i bring him into custody and then let the conspiracy trap me.And as the wiki says a new quest is revealing then..

If you pay him, you can track down the conspirators and end things right there.

If you don't, or opt to let them come to you, the woman who approached you to warn you in the first place gets murdered and they later ambush you in the keep. I don't remember any notable experience boosts or item drops to speak of.

The wiki says that it will affect the plot-my decision i mean.So maybe the dark wolf appears again later on the game if i don't kill him.

No, the Dark Wolf never appears again if you pay him to find the conspirators (apart from the meeting where he tells you what he learned).

Personally, from a RP perspective, I always let him live. As the Warden-Commander and therefore a person in a position of political power, having an excellent spymaster who can find out the information I need is invaluable to maintaining my rule. (That doesn't mean I'll be a tyrant! It's just that when you're in politics, information is the key to success.)

I usually kill him because he steals the warden's identity as the dark wolf, if they finished the "Crime Wave" questline. Also, I'm too cheap to pay for his services and I usually opt for combat whenever possible. I go with the option to turn him in to the authorities which turns the Dark Wolf hostile, and thus the warden must defend themself.

And what happens then? The conspirators trap you at Vigil's Keep and that's it?You kill all of them there?
