i am just now level 17 and my rouge is just now master lock pick and my question is --that i have not been able to open high level chests in the forest, mages tower, mountain top, just about everywhere and i want to know if it's worth going back to all these places thinking i could have picked up some great armor or weapon or are they all full of mundame stuff???

It's all mundane stuff. I mean I can't recall there being a single unique item in a locked chest (that you can't find a key for) but if you are low on gold...
EDIT: Oh wait there are a FEW good things but nothing you can't live without. Love letters (for the quest) , Gifts etc.
