It could be they know it's going to sell and I don't think Samurai Warriors sells as well outside of Japan.

Sells more than they would have by not providing it in the west, and in the case of the company itself as far as I am aware the merger allows each entity to still be separate while pooling and combining resources for their projects, and also allowing crossovers.

For example in warriors orochi (the newer one I believe) they have some tecmo characters as well as all the Dynasty/samurai warriors characters.

Ryu was one of them I think.

Hayabusa and Ayane from Ninja Gaiden (and dead or alive) are in there
the other guests are from Bladestorm, Zill'oll (or whatever) and the Troy one
plus a few new characters from old Chinese and Japanese stories

I think it's better to just let go the whole SW3 series of games. The game was originally developed for the Wii and its release (along with Empires) are simply upscale ports. Significantly weaker, slower and less pretty than if developed for a higher end console originally.
Don't worry about. Warriors Orochi 3 is set to be released here and I really do think SW4 will make its way here too.

I really hope so. My favorite characters are from the SW side of the franchise. Nothing like having the kyushu dream team (Tachibana Ginchiyo, Tachibana Dosetsu, Shimazu Yoshihiro) at my back in glorious conquest of japan.

It's only one Bladestorm character, Jeanne d'Arc, or at least the "official fan site" only has her listed, it also lists Ryu as being from Ninja Gaiden and Ayane from DOA, even though both characters are in both games.  So, it would appear they only put in one guest character from the different games represented that aren't Samurai or Dynasty Warriors.

Then there's one character from Trinity: Souls of Zill'oll and finally, the character you play in the Troy game.

Well, Ryu and Ayane looked awesome, so I guess that makes up for choosing other characters I don't care about.  Though Joan of Arc will be interesting to see.

Ah Joan, it was great fighting alongside her, and against her in blade storm. If only they would have refined the game mechanics more... Maybe the game would have done better.

Maybe. I traded it in as soon as I was done with. The only achievement I didn't get was because I did what was required and it glitched on me or I couldn't figure out how to do it or felt it was going to take too long.

I can't remember which it was. But I don't have the game any more and a new live profile. But at the time I played it, I had fun and got what I wanted out of it.

Oh i'll admit it can get real repetitive after a while. It was an experiment by koei after all, and as such they didn't really put their all behind it. However I have to say that the fact koei was willing to risk so much to put this game out there really spoke against the laziness some people see in them.

Speaking of laziness though, koei really needs to get off their ass and give us a proper CAW mode for their series.

Well speak of the devil. Koei got off their behinds and provided an awesome Create A Warrior system for Dynasty warriors 7 empires.

Eh, looks kind of lame. I've been itching to get back to the series, though. I remember renting one of the Empires game. Empires is actually better than any of the other ones like Xtreme Warriors and whatnot. Anyways, I'll probably be looking at the game when it the price hits rock bottom. They aren't worth buying at full price or even mid-price.
