@Quole.

Turians and Quarians have the whole desxtro DNA thingey going; and it made them incompatible. According to lore and ME Science! sexual contact with non dextro-DNA species would result in serious consequences up to and including death.
I am fairly certain this was part of the Turian and Quarian entries in the ME1 codex. At least I remember reading/being told that in ME1.

Totally not worth it for a bit of nookie.

This was changed or ignored in ME2 to allow for Talimancing and Garromancing.

I loved Tali as a character myself for the most part.

I didnt want to romance her or anything because to me she was like a nerdy little sister and because Quarians arent sexually compatible with humans according to ME1 established lore. So for me it wasnt even a possibility.

The fact that she was made a possibility in ME2 by ignoring Mass Effects established lore struck me as blatant fanservice. And I like to pretend it didnt happen. lol. Thats just me tho.
In ME2 I liked her as a character more than in ME1 but I found I could only talk to her so much and then i would have to avoid her because she would always ninjamance my MaleShep (a problem with ALL the romances in ME2 actually. The rampant and annoying ninjamancing.) which made me sad cos I really did like her.

Then I came onto BSN and encountered the Talimancers.

And now I no longer like her, because of the rabid creepy Talimancers. They put Tali into such a negative light for me that she was ruined for me. Course it didnt help that some of these Talimancers are so anti-ss (being total hypocrites about it).

*sad panda*

Not compatible because of their immune systems. Their... naughty bits on the other hand are. I least that's what I've gathered.

It's a shame really, why let a few deviants skew your perception of a character. I know I haven't. Image IPB

Ill say this again.... more fans means more creepy fans. Its simple probability. Tali fans are no worse than other fans.

Yeah, being a Talimancer myself, i find these people's obsession a little unsettling.

But you admit that they are no worse than other fans? Theres just more of them.

Of course.

...then why did you make this thread singling out Talifans?

Dude, your a dick.Image IPB

Being dextro does not mean they are going to die. Yes they are incompatible in tht they cannot reproduce together, but you really have no idea what the risk factor is. If you remember Tali was going to be a LI in ME1, but they changed it at the last second because they didnt think poeple would like her. If anything, this is explained more in ME2.

The only real threat is an allergic reaction, which can be easily subdued by weakening her immune system. How was this changed in ME2? Like I said, you are assuming things in ME1, which were clarified in ME2.

@Neurotics...

It is a shame that they ruined her for me alas.

In my more recent playthru's I tend to avoid her as much as possible. In fact I avoid all the girls (as ManShep) because I am sick of being Ninjamanced. Eugh.
I mean honestly, I hadnt even spoke to her yet in ME2 and Kelly was rattling on about how Tali was clearly in love with me and how cute she thought it was. Was like "wtf?"

You read that thread on Talizorah.org? It was those kind of people that put me off her.

Also theres no need for name calling.

Might be wrong, but I am nearly positive that I read that the incompatibility (in ME1) was serious. More serious than an allergy.

But then a LOT about the Quarians got changed for ME2.

I've been suckered into watching MLP: FIM and it's pretty cool at times. Wouldn't really call myself a massive fan but I've seen a few episodes. Mainly cause Lauren Faust knows how to do some good shows.

But, in plenty of comments I've seen people talk about "clopping" and some even profess their sexual attraction to.. ponies.

So yeah, there are creepers in every fanbase.

I don't think so. The lore didn't really change at all. At least I didn't see any changes.

Bartender talked about not drinking Turian booze 'cause it'll kill you.

Mordin talked about risks of oral contact or something (for Tali).

Tali doesn't ninjamance; she makes it prettgy clear what you're getting into. Ashley, on the other hand, is a ninjamance master.

I thought so too.

Considering I've never been ninjamanced by anyone other than her.

he also says you just need to take proper precautions, which apparently they did.

This is no place for Talihaters, just Talimancers who are sick of the few deviants we have somehow been represented by.

I never got the point of hating a character, unless it was one of those that we hate to love but love to hate, but in a good way.
