im sure everyone is aware of whats been plaguing the nwnvault of late, with all those ridiculous faulty advertisements  has anyone heard of any word of what might be done about them?

i recently went to gavin_ & six wildland set, and well... look at the comments yourself:

i posted this on the cc forum since i feel it will effect us the most. i mean its kind ahard to read what other players are saying about our craetions when you have to sift through: "GET 50% ALL HANDBAGS!" or what-not.

i was hoping that maybe the vault moderator might be aware, or had ideas to fix it. im sure just reporting a bot doesnt really work

I've reported spam on my entries twice, but it just keeps coming back. At this stage, it's on so many entries that I feel bad bother BeyondThePale about it. But, seriously, it's crippling the Vault.

I would be all for them just rejecting any new posts comments that have URL's in them. That would at least stop most of the new ones showing up.

perhaps if the vault implemented CD-key registration to post, it would end it too. Seems a shame that a cd key is now a useless entity for NWN...

I have used Mollom on most of my sites and it does (so far!) a great job. And, as it learns from all the mollom accounts out there, it's rather agile.

NwVault could integrate it pretty easily, depending on the CMS they are using.  It's almost drop in with Drupal.

Mollom incorporates captcha as well as textual analysis.

Generally, I set up the captcha only for registration or anonymous comments and allow my registered users to bypass captcha.  They (and I!) do not bypass the text analysis, however. Which reminds me, I should turn comments on...

And basic usage (for not terribly busy sites) is free.
