Until I get answer to this my concerns will remain.

Could you please explain to me whether there be a single difference in the main game if do not take part in ME3 MP, alternative storylines or additional missions or cutscenes even endings inside the single player main story? Or can everything be viewed and seen and done in the main single player game with MP only offering a different route to that same results and scenes and such... Is MP based on having to have four friends that have the same game and same system for that game to play? Will it be PUG or LFG based random people in team to make up numbers? Or can it be played as single player with AI controlled companions? Since was said "optimal" ending but what about all other endings will there be a missing ending or cutscene or dialogue in (main game) if do not play the co-op?

Uhuh. You also don't "need" a harvard education to get a good job, but it helps.

Your comparison is based off of nothing at all. Even the FAQ pretty much proves the co op isn't necessary and it is likely not very important. Seriously do you want it to be easy to defeat the freaking Reaper Armada?

This sounds pretty interesting, completely optional and, from what I am reading, had no effect on resources meant for the core game. Perfect.

Yeah, while I honestly don't care about having multiplayer in Mass Effect myself, alot of people did want it, and it's great that they can get that while at the same time it won't affect the game for single players.

...Other than that I think it sounds really promising. I stand by my initial opinion - that this seems like something that deserved it's own spin off game post ME3 - but the concept is really impressive. In fact the idea behind it actually reinforces my thinking that this would have made a great stand alone title given more development time, all those elements you mention could have been expanded into something even more epic in scope, and I can't help but worry at how polished it will be (new team etc.)

In theory, I'll admit it sounds neat. But most of what BioWare does of late sounds nice in theory, its in the execution that I have serious doubts. Just as much as this could be a really neat addition to the franchise, I could see it easily ending up as a bloated distraction, laden with rubbish like "Retweet this BioWare message to increase your Galactic Readiness!" or "Like this 10000 times to boost your Galactic Readiness!" or any number of other stupid gimmicks. The whole thing seems tailor made for map pack DLC ("Bring the fight to *Insert planet name here* and save *Insert alien race here*!" and microtransactions. And you can bet that the PC version will have Origin all over it.

It just sounds kind of tacky and a bit like its trying too hard to fit into the single player narrative but at the same time not fit into the narrative. Again, not unlike how BioWare is claiming how DA3 will blend DA2 and Origins- they're trying to have their cake and eat it too. Whether they can actually have it work for the end user is the big question mark.

If this sort of thing were a dedicated stand alone title developed from the ground up for solely multiplayer, I might be interested in it. As it stands, it doesn't do anything to make me want to buy ME3.

Of all scenarios running through my head, this isn't the worst. Possibility of being a turian does peak my interest.

Good one soothing my rage, BW. SinglePlayer better be a real 5* delight, tho.

I was so happy being apathetic about multiplayer. I was excited about the free time I would finally have after breaking away from co-ops and pvps and hoard modes.

And then you just had to mention krogans.

You win. Have all my times. Just let me charge into stuff.

No, I am the one not drinking the PR kool-aid.

And yeah, still think you are twelve....  Sorry, not a kid here, just concerned about the quality of a great game series.

Is that picture of Obama crying taken after the latest economic figures have been analyzed?

I have to say I'm impressed.

I wasn't looking for multiplayer and wasn't expecting much from it if it was added, but the multiplayer model Chris laid out is just about perfect for this game.

If it is possible to play that portion of the game single player with AI controlling the other squadmates, that would be perfect - as it would allow those who favor a SP experience to do that and still experience that portion of the game if they want to.

Sounds like some really good design ideas they're putting in. I approve.

Though I'll likely never get to see a second of the co-op since nobody I know in RL actually plays Mass Effect. :pinched:

Still, sounds neat.

I've been critical of this idea from the beginning. I've hated it, in fact... but now that it's official, I wish Bioware the best on this endeavor. If they can deliver a solid 30 hr single player campaign, and have multi as well, they will be giving the boring military shooters out there a swift kick in nuts.

I'm not too sure about this.

On one hand, I like the idea of seeing the war from different fronts and playing with friends. On the other hand, I don't like how it affects the singleplayer mode. I think they should be completely seperate.

Also "galactic rediness level" conerns me. Is this going to be like Fable 3, where we can only play up until a certain point like an invisible timer?

It seems interesting but I'm concernec about it's implementations.

Same here. :/

Hopefully its more like Dead Rising 2's single/multi connection, that wasnt too bad.

I'm indifferent on the co-op implementation. I'm just enjoying the sights.

That doesn't have to involve commentary, just saying...

Thanks for the info Chris, hopefully it will calm some people down.

I would love to take all the credit, but Jesse Houston adn Nick Clifford worked hard to get this ready once we had the info go public a tad earlier than we thought.

Thanks guys.

I never doubted this final chapter would amazing, and this will just be another tasty treat to snack on for those that care to sample. Can't wait for March! :o:wizard:

I hope the board freakouts didn't ruin your family's holiday. Thanks for this info.

Well said. :)

Thanks. Personally, I think everyone that has to deal with fan expectations and these boards deserve medals. If it were me, I think I would require therapy.

I know one and he's a pc gamer so I'm hoping for AI companions.

So ME3 won't end the Reaper story. I knew it.

I did not expect something as quite interesting in implementation as this, definitely interested in MP now. Just hope we can play locally too, and that 4-player is not required.

4 player co-op multiplayer

Simple question: Only with four players? I've a friend at hand, we played say Portal 2 or Resident Evil 5 co-op and had a lot of fun doing so, but obviously that was just for two people. So if I'm going to play ME3 co-op I need 4 people including me, or is it playable and enjoyable with less?

I'm glad I cancelled my preorder. Needed to be done...still keeping an eye out just because I want to know how the story will end.

It sure as heck did effect the single player story. Resources used on multiplayer could have been used adding more features, planets and unique missions. Four-player co-op....how will dialogue work with that? It can't. Which means its a shootfest.

I haven't decided yet whether to cancel or not.  But it's pretty clear that this will be my last Mass Effect game either way.
