You can quote the PR faq but come on. It was put out to deflect anger about the multiplayer.

They can't just lie their asses off and not care about backlash.

Really? DA2 springs to mind, they didn't give a damn about the backlash to that. I'll take the same approach to DA3 and ME3, that means waiting until detailed reviews are in with solid positive ratings. My days of buying BW product on the day of release are over.

I am sorry but the reviews that you will see on IGN and other websites will be mostly on the Multiplayer aspects of the game. With a bit of reference to the Single Player campaigns. Because its what everyone is worry about, its what most of the posts will be about anyways. I have already ended up not playing DA2 for this long, I can wait for ME3 to get a real review after the initial hype of its MP.

For those wondering, you’ll also be able to choose your gender when choosing any class.

Does this mean...MALE ASARI?!?!

You know Asari are single gendered, right?

It sounds like the carry overs from the co-op to singleplayer are just points that you'll gain anyway, so it sounds very optional.

I'm going to reserve my judgement on the multiplayer until I have played the final product. Who knows, I might love it!

And that single gender is female.

Knowing me, the first time I play I'm going to make my Krogan look bad by charging everything in sight and getting killed on my first wave :(

Seriously, why are people saying they aren't gonna buy the game, because of an optional feature. And I quote

"How you perform in the multiplayer missions has a result on your success in the main storyline as Shepard, but only if you want it to."
See, nothing to worry about. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

The "Galaxy At War" system worries me. I really don't want the multiplayer impacting my single player experience in any way.

It doesn't.

They SAY it doesn't - whether it ACTUALLY does has yet to be seen.  They also said planet scanning was a fun little mini-game.

I'm not going to go as far as to say I'm not going to buy the game, but for the first time in the series I'm definitely going to rent first.  ......And a few clicks - preorder canceled.

Also, they're calling it ME:GaW for cryin' out loud - the Gears of War parallels are only going to get worse.

Agreed. I suspect it may be several months after release before I can trawl the review sites and get a relatively objective concensus. This is the real impact of DA2, many previously loyal fans now raising an eyebrow at any deviation from the expected. I'm not surprised that so much alarm has been generated at the introduction to an SP RGP of co-op FPS.

If you don't see a difference between completly subjective impressions on the level of fun some system provides and a simple and purely facts-based statement that MP is not necessary to achieve anything in SP and that unless you want it, it won't affect the SP, then I don't even knopw what to say.

They do say it affect the single player. It is also said that it is optional and a alternative.

How that read to me is that the benefits from this co-op can also be attained thru the single player. If this is true or not will need to wait till there are some actual answers.

I am waiting but then I guess I am one of those lucky few that will play it all. SIngle player only or some co-op mixed in depending.

Me it is how it is executed. Not that it exsists.

Because I hate EA and I hate any companies that bow to their all-mighty decision making. Every penny I've grittingly given to Bioware was just due to my sheer interest in ME. Well, this happens to be the last straw.

I WILL play ME3, but I sure as hell won't be paying any money for it. I have plenty of friends to mooch off of.

Personally i dont care atm, i just want to know if ME3 will require Origin. <_<

This is what I'm most interested in as well.  Given the information we have I suspect that even if you buy the disk (as I do), then Origin will need to be installed to play the MP aspect of the game, and given how tied MP is to the SP part of the game, installing Origin won't be optional.
I'm waiting for confirmation of my suspicions before I cancel my SE pre-order, and I don't expect it to come until just before game release.

Is it possible to input a custom thrown through an image or something? would love to use my own custom Turian character shown..
<===== would be pretty awesome to use him, as well as is it possible to play this offline? I kinda have a very terrible internets connection right now.

well they aid that its going ot interfere if you actually want it to,what i mean is that you don't need to play multiplayer to get the galaxy ready you can just play single player normaly
it would be a lttle harder withouth the multiplayer to do so but the multiplayer impacting the isngle player is pretty much optional its htere for oyu to use it and make htings easier on the single player but if oyu don't want to play it then don't play it would

Come ME3, that phrase can be taken literally now.

Good news for one of my friends, with whom a conversation always starts with:
Him: "Shepard"
Me: "Wrex"

Why is an optional feature the final straw? Why can't you just accept it for what it is, maybe even try it? I admit EA is a little controlling, but if your owned by them, you can't make much choise. It could be bad, but it could also be good. It does not take anything away at all from the ME experience, in fact it opens a whole new door. If you don't like the feature, don't use it. It doesn't ruin the game.

Hmm ME:GaW...... GoW.... I don't see a difference. There is three different letters. Now GoW and GoW that's a tough one. Also you should calm down lest you continue to amuse me with your rage.

Honestly, that's ridiculous. They've said themselves it will affect your success in the game. What is more likely, do you think? Hmmm? That all that stuff you do in MP will simply lead to SP points or that SOME content of SOME kind will present itself in SP as a result of MP. Seriously, you're the one who's choosing believe the least logical possibility. Don't ask me why, but you are. Stop kidding yourself.

Logic demands low risk.  Adding yet more branching into the SP based on an MP input is higher risk.  Points affecting a total is lower risk and also allows other revenue streams to contribute to the same concept (think mobile Galaxy at War enabled game or something on Facebook).

There's risk for them either way but since they have built the franchise on "choices matter" and your actions and decisions making small and large changes to the content, I think it's really far-fetched to believe we won't see any in-game link in content between the two.

Not happy.

It's called being ignorant, that's why it's the last straw. The "Me-me-me-me-me, or else!" syndrome may also be a factor.
