Unless it's on a separate disk labeled "multiplaye[r"], or a seperate dlc I don't have to instal[l], it's not optional enough.

I get the concerns over MP content eating disc space and all that, but this really sounds like nothing so much as a child complaining that the vegetables just touched the meat, and they don't want to eat anymore.

More like the vegetables ate the meat. And I'm being told to shut up and eat my vegetables

Personally i dont care atm, i just want to know if ME3 will require Origin. <_<

This is what I'm most interested in as well.  Given the information we have I suspect that even if you buy the disk (as I do), then Origin will need to be installed to play the MP aspect of the game, and given how tied MP is to the SP part of the game, installing Origin won't be optional.
I'm waiting for confirmation of my suspicions before I cancel my SE pre-order, and I don't expect it to come until just before game release.

Gues you and I are the only ones curious about this. :(

Of course not, Woo just closed a 50+ page ****ing about Origin in ME3. Tons of people don't want it, including me.

Seriously though, people have been clamoring to play as the different races of Mass Effect since almost day one, and now they get it and it's not good enough because it's co-operative multiplayer, which in my opinion is the best kind of multiplayer.

Some people..

For those wondering, you’ll also be able to choose your gender when choosing any class.

Does this mean...MALE ASARI?!?!

You know Asari are single gendered, right?

And that single gender is female.

Ah, no tghey arn't.
asari can mate with each other, not female.

I admit EA is a little controlling, but if your owned by them, you can't make much choise.

Yeah, I don't really get all the "They should stand up to EA!" people.  It's kinda like demanding that someone's finger poke them in the eye.  Bioware is a wholly-owned division of EA, and has been for about 4 years now.

[*]Everything you do in the singleplayer campaign will earn you in-game currency called “War Assets”. War Assets allow you to purchase things such as allies, friendly fleets, or even a facility such as a radar station.
[*]Successfully completing various side-missions, larger plot points, and destroying your enemies will net you the War Assets needed to purchase the upgrades.
[*]“The more you play and build up your multiplayer characters to surive increasingly tough odds, the more power and influence your single-player Shepard will wield by the time the endgame comes based on the amount of War Assets earned.”

So what are SP only player gonna do with the War Assets, is it only usable in the MP or there is things we can do In the SP , Since your Multiplayer Characters will increase power and influence for your Single Player, what if I just play as a Single Player, is it gonna affect my influence and power in the game. Or will I have to do MP just so that My SP Shepard is good enough to continue the story.

These are the fears of the anti-MP coming true.

"While you’re going through a variety of locations in singleplayer, you’ll see first-hand how the war has hit different colonies. Galaxy at War mode follows suit, allowing your individual character and team to take up arms to defend these various locations. Your squad is under the command of the Alliance Navy officer Admiral Hackett, making his return from each game. Fighting in each various area will and successfully defending it will “win for interstellar freedom”."

So are these areas locked from Single Players?, are these areas none accessible by Single Players, and is only enjoyable by Multiplayers.

[*]| Maybe one can do it alone.

[*]| For me, that statement implies that a balance exist between SP and MP. Is saying that as you progress through SP, you can unlock things in MP, and your progress on MP will make it easier to have all the assets to complete the game on the better endings. However, they've already said that you could still get the better endings without playing MP and we haven't been told how the MP would affect the SP. Also, Shepard won't be in most of the battles, which is the role of the multiplayer, to show us how these battles are fought so of course some areas won't be in the SP but will be in the MP and viceversa.

See, nothing to worry about. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

Because I hate EA and I hate any companies that bow to their all-mighty decision making. Every penny I've grittingly given to Bioware was just due to my sheer interest in ME. Well, this happens to be the last straw.

I WILL play ME3, but I sure as hell won't be paying any money for it. I have plenty of friends to mooch off of.

Why is an optional feature the final straw? Why can't you just accept it for what it is, maybe even try it? I admit EA is a little controlling, but if your owned by them, you can't make much choise. It could be bad, but it could also be good. It does not take anything away at all from the ME experience, in fact it opens a whole new door. If you don't like the feature, don't use it. It doesn't ruin the game.

I don't give money to people I hate. I hate Bioware and EA, 'nuff said. All this multiplayer addition does is further acknowledge my beliefs. It's funny, there was a point I was actually starting to like Bioware, guess they turned out no different than everyone else.

At least Skyrim didn't cave to multiplayer-****s, yet...

The codex entry for the asari says they are an ALL FEMALE RACE. The way the mate, or bump uglies if you prefer, allows them to mate with any gender. The way they reproduce is "special".

A.  Read your Codex.
B.  Please take this eternally-recurring argument elsewhere if you really want to go another round on it.

I said from day one that I would not buy ME3 if they added multiplayer.

Thank you Bioware, you have managed saved me $60 now and potentially hundreds in the future. Kudos!

Big fan.

Not a fan of multi-player or co-op no matter who does it.  But they say it won't affect the single player game.  I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and if it messes up my game I'll re-think my BioWare fandom.  I always have JE, KOTOR, DA:O, DA2 and ME1 and 2 and future game,

If it is a disapointment, I'll just wait and see what they produce before buying.  Have never done that with Bioware.  They have always been a pre order as soon as it is available. This could just put them in the same catagory as every other developer out there if they don't pull it off.

Why is multiplayer evil? And Bioware? Is this all because one game didn't live up to your expectations. I'm sorry, but I don't think you could have done it better. If you think about it, DA2 had some big shoes to fill, its kind of difficult to get it right. Why does this just ruin the game for you? Please back it up with evidence.

Look at Red dead redemption's single player campaign and notice how long and engaging it was, as well as having good multiplayer. I feel ME3 will have something similar.

Complaining and hating isn't a waste of time.
I feel it's valuable training for the grumpy old man I want to become.
