I suppose he just wants to share his hate with the internets.  Quite generous, really.

More like looking for lotion for his sore ass.

Heh. This sounds disappointing.

I dislike people, why would I want to play a game with them that even affects SP?

Except for the fun fact that it doesn't if you don't want to.

It's all about the war profit.

Now if the multiplayer allows me to punch people in the face over TCP/IP, I'm all for it..

Or even brick their consoles.

See, nothing to worry about. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

Because I hate EA and I hate any companies that bow to their all-mighty decision making. Every penny I've grittingly given to Bioware was just due to my sheer interest in ME. Well, this happens to be the last straw.

I WILL play ME3, but I sure as hell won't be paying any money for it. I have plenty of friends to mooch off of.

Why is an optional feature the final straw? Why can't you just accept it for what it is, maybe even try it? I admit EA is a little controlling, but if your owned by them, you can't make much choise. It could be bad, but it could also be good. It does not take anything away at all from the ME experience, in fact it opens a whole new door. If you don't like the feature, don't use it. It doesn't ruin the game.

I don't give money to people I hate. I hate Bioware and EA, 'nuff said. All this multiplayer addition does is further acknowledge my beliefs. It's funny, there was a point I was actually starting to like Bioware, guess they turned out no different than everyone else.

At least Skyrim didn't cave to multiplayer-****s, yet...

Just wait.

Why is multiplayer evil? And Bioware? Is this all because one game didn't live up to your expectations. I'm sorry, but I don't think you could have done it better. If you think about it, DA2 had some big shoes to fill, its kind of difficult to get it right. Why does this just ruin the game for you? Please back it up with evidence.

1.)I hate megacorperations
2.)I hate sellouts
3.)I hate EA
4.)I hate DRM
5.)I hate the cerberus network
6.)I hate games with tacked on multiplayer
7.)I hate when games add multiplayer that is not needed
8.)I hate when game features are added for the sole purpose of attracting the  lack-witted market.
9.)I hate when game features are added just to mimic the success of halo, CoD, and GoW.
10.)I hate when multiplayer is added just as an excuse to market a bunch of expansion packs.
11.)I hate when beautiful-established single-player games get tainted with unncecesary multiplayer.
12.)I hate when multiplayer attracts the lowest-common-denominator of gamers.
13.)I hate when companies use multiplayer options as a means of DRM and control.
14.)I hate when companies lie, mislead, dodge, or avoid the truth until the last minute.
15.)I hate when companies fail to weight public opinion.
16.)I hate when companies put any resources toward unncessirty options.
17.)I hate when companies look at their customers as dollar signs.
18.)I hate when companies try to screw their followers every chance they get.
19.)I hate how companies start small and friend, and eventually transform intp money-grubbing control freaks.
20.)I hate when a game's focus is distorted for the sole purpose of "appealing to a larger crowd"

I could probably keep going, but I'm bored already.

What logic? I'm not debating... You can think I'm stupid and wrong all you like, but I cannot stand money-grubbing megacorperations who couldn't give two-****s about their customers well-being.

Keep buying that DLC.
Keep paying for that DRM.
Keep lining the fat-cat's wallets.

Again, this is my opinion. I cannot tell you how many times amazing, independant companies have been lost to execessive corperate greed. I will not be feeding the beast anymore.

Basically, I'm never buying anything EA branded again. Plenty of file hosting sites for those types of files.

There are various reasons to be wary of MP in general if you are a fan of games such as ME1 and 2 (lucrative, lowest-common-denominator business models keeping developers from producing games we like, for one).

No, I am not wary here because one game did not live up to my expectations. There are now a string of games and game decisions that lead me to conclude the company is moving in a creative direction that I do not like.

Some examples: Witchhunt, DA2, KOTOR as MMO. When you add to this some of the moves parent EA has made with Origins, plus the very deceptive marketing practices EA and BioWare have employed (such as deliberately misleading us all about MP for a long time), I no longer trust that BioWare will produce an ME3 experience that makes me happy. It is very easy for me to see a scenario in which they screw their prime ME fanbase in an attempt to get Gears and CoD players on board. For goodness sakes, they've even tried to make the name SOUND like Gears of War. I think one would rationally conclude that they are going to take fans like me for granted and will do anything to the SP experience they please if they think it will get them more MP players.

If they hadn't done all these other things beforehand, I'd be willing to take this latest development on faith but I can't do that now. Their recent track record and, yes, their word, will not permit me to do so.

One good thing has come of this, my wait for the next 5.5 months to pass just got a little easier.

I will admit, I may have to eat my words.  And that makes me glad.  If this is true, I think I can live with this.

It still bugs me that there is Mp in this game and the mode seems really like a cash grab.  The one thing I do not like is that you can gain these "War Assets" in MP to affect SP.  So does this mean I can just play MP to beat the game and win the war?  Epic lame.

But SP does seem to be unaffected.  I still remain Pessimistically Cautious.  But this is a small glimmer of hope.

Same here, thanx for sharing that link with us whoever I feel a bit better now.

But I also shall remain Pessimistically Cautious, for with things like these you never know.... (especially with EA xP)

Seriously, why are people saying they aren't gonna buy the game, because of an optional feature. And I quote

"How you perform in the multiplayer missions has a result on your success in the main storyline as Shepard, but only if you want it to."

1. I don't blame you there
2. You hate it when people make seemingly good business decisions? You must hate half the companies in america :)
3. A little controlling, understandable.
4. Again, don't blame you
5. There's no good reason for that. It barely does anything.
6. Its done by a completely different team. It was completely designed, not tacked on
7. Its not needed in any game, but it sure is nice to have. I'd rather have more things to do than less.
8. I don't think anybody following ME is lackwitted. Sure there might be a few, but this is not a big drawing point, its something extra they've added in.
9. This doesn't copy off them very much. Sure enemies come in waves, but thats almost every game in existance. (for example, Galaga. Good times...)
10. There's not much you can do at the end of a trilogy in terms of DLC. I think that the multiplayer is a good way to have it, but I don't think thats the reason its in.
11. If you don't want to play MP, don't. Its not tainted at all.
12. It doesn't. Sure CoD and Halo do that, but ME is a SP game first, as opposed to those games.
13. I don't think thats it. Its a cool idea, and a lot of people have asked for it.
14. Its called not giving away secrets. Its like Chistmas: Do you want to know what your present is 4 months early?
15. I think your a little outnumbered on this one...
16. Everything in ME is unneccessary. You don't have to have amazing anything.
17. Its a company, it has to make a profit. Once again, people have been asking for this.
18. They're not screwing you over at all. They're trying to be nice to you, but you slap them in the face.
19. Its called humanity. Deal with it.
20. Its not distorted at all. MP in this game just adds to the SP.
