Exaggeration or not, it does reflect badly on his attempts at "convincing" Bioware to withdraw on multiplayer. Well-reasoned arguments would at least appear more decent. [/quote]

It's too late to withdraw anyway, but that doesn't stop people from being unhappy. Crap is crap, but I'll be happily playing my ME2, my Shepard's story ends with that game.

You're lucky.  My Shepard's story may very well begin and end with ME1 :crying:

Sorry to hear it. Is it because you're angry with Bioware about ME3? Or because your Shepard happened to die at the end of that particular play through? Image IPB

It's because I feel, that I was intentionally mislead and cheated, I may have been able to cope with MP otherwise. The trust is gone and BW seems somewhat spineless in my eyes atm. But I wasn't too excited about ME3, anyway after seeing all the gameplay stuff. ^_^

Mass Effect is a single player experience, not one to invite all your friends over and "own" each other for the top leaderboards.

I know it is, I've been playing since ME1 first came out. Also we already know there will be no " "owning" each other for the top leaderboards." so we can stop trying to make people who enjoy shooters sound retarded.

NOD-INFORMER37 wrote...

So its understandable why some would get mad at the idea of co-op, its not what ppl play this game for and even worse is than EA forced it on Bioware. . :S

Yea, people are getting their panties in a knot because we'll have a chance to ditch retarded squad AI and have actual team mates with actual brains who can actually do what I tell them to do instead of shooting warp at the wall it front of the guy I ordered to get warped and be forced to wait until the idiots cooldown is up to try again.

I understand why people would be angry that EA may have forced Multiplayer on to Bioware, that pisses me off as well, but from what I have read it seems Bioware, instead of slapping a half assed MP mode in a calling it a game, has devoted a seperate team to work on multiplayer so that the main one can work on the single player without losing quality. So now it's bad that two teams are working on one game instead of just one team?

In all honesty nothing any of us argue will change anyone's mind or make the game any more or less good or bad then it is going to be. We just have to wait and play both modes ourselves and then judge it. Not sit and b!tch about something we can't change.

hey, they closed the other thread with this questions but it's a question i'd still like answered. will we be able to do the co-op missions offline? like split screen? i remember when all the multi-player games were split screen and you could play them locally, now its only ever on live, meaning you have to have 2 consoles, two xbox live memberships, and two copies of the game, such a hassle.

also, if the co-op levels are only online, will it affect your me3 play through, or your friends play through? which one of us will be making any possible important decisions that could affect the main story?

the info we've been given is very vague, the missions are optional, and it is still possible to get a positive ending w/o them but how much do we miss out on for doing them/not doing them?

don't get me wrong, i'm warming to the idea of the coop levels and think they will be very fun, but you just dropped this huge new update on us and gave us very little info on how it will work. you're spoon feeding us something big but you haven't told us what it is we're putting in our mouths yet.

needless to say i look forwards to the announcement on Wednesday and I hope some of the questions can be answered.

http://stickskills.c...tails-revealed/

That should answer some questions but as for the offline idk. I REALLY hope we can play offline or at least with bots though. The wait for tommorw is unbearable lol

Yes. Yes Please. Very much please.

Allow offline bot matches for people who don't have access to steady internet etc. That way single players who wouldn't use it might be more tempted to give it a whirl and they can get their readiness all uppidy and going.

Agreed, and to be honest I find co-op features like this one to be more fun when playing single player anyways. lol call me weird but I personally dislike the idea of having someone (even if they are a friend) screwing around and rushing through the thing like its CoD, I prefer to just play at my own pace.(especially since Mass Effect is a Single Player game to begin with)

If this thing could go offline, I might actually try it. That's the #1 reason I don't like MP.  I like to play on my own time, not someone else's.

It's because I feel, that I was intentionally mislead and cheated, I may have been able to cope with MP otherwise. The trust is gone and BW seems somewhat spineless in my eyes atm. But I wasn't too excited about ME3, anyway after seeing all the gameplay stuff. ^_^

I know how you feel but that doesnt mean you have to abandon a really great series.

Personally I'm still loyal to Halo but Bungie? F**k 'em :P

If you dont want to support Bioware just wait until the game goes used or whatever, they wont get a cent. :]

I can agree with that given how Bioware was playing the "dedicated to a single player experience" card to avoid giving an answer on multiplayer, which was not cool. And most of the marketing has been pretty craptastic so far. At least compared to Human Revolution, which had me foaming at the mouth with its initial trailers, demos, etc. Still, another 5-6 months for the devs to potentially impress. I really want to see what happens.

Good grief. Nowhere did it say that Insanity would be impossible without resorting to MP. Quite the opposite, actually. If you were a "real fan" you'd wait until you had the game, try the MP, then decide if you like it. As for achievements, who gives a s***?

So a "real fan" would just hand over their money despite misgivings?

I consider myself a "real fan" despite my complaints.  I'm willing to wait until after I see the Pulse episode tommorrow before making my decision.  But I am still incredibly disappointed with Bioware and will not be purchasing any more Mass Effect games after the trilogy.

I wasn't exaggerating (unfortunately), and am not willing to buy something that looks half-baked as it tries to grab a chunk of the MP market (fat chance against the incredible games already out there, and those I've pre-ordered for the next  few months culminating in (hopefully the ultimate SP/Co-op/Mp game in Halo4).

Money isn't an issue, I've got pre-orders for well over 300GBP's worth of games still on order, but having what I truly believed to have been the best ever game of its genre destroyed to make a few extra bucks from spotty 13 year old kids who only interest is MP is truly sad! Image IPB

AGREED I'd much prefer it to be offline, online multi is ok from time to time, but going at your own pace and your schedule is personally the way to go. =)

Nah, I've nothing to gain from that. It's not -that- great series, I started playing because of Miranda, but that's not enough to have me play ME3. It's matter of principle, there's no way I am going to support BioWare continuing on the path they've taken. Starting to add all kinds of idiotic features and things to appeal to the gamer, that doesn't care rat's arse about RPGs. I mean all the kinects and other stuffh, all that money could've been spent to allow larger squad in ME3 and add more stuff for each squadmate. But they rather have the. ''OMGH!!"!! BOOM HEADSHOT, LOOK MOOOM I KILLED A HIGH TECH ZOMBIE GAI!!'' gamers playing the game.:D

Well some ppl prefer bots over ppl, me included, they may not be as smart(well not YET in this day and age) but its a heckava  lot more convenient.

And yes its a good thing that there are seperate teams but still, and remember its all on one disc. That multiplayer space could be used for single player content.

And yeah "b******g"(I dont think its that bad right now though, more like guessing :P) about it on the forums probably wont help much, but thats what the forums are for right? :]

Here's the thing about "read between the lines" arguments: you can pretty much claim that anything is lurking between the lines.  Pony up some actual evidence for this "Can't beat Insanity without MP" notion and then we'll talk.  I'll grant you the achievements thing, as at least one or two MP ones seem likely, but I also don't care about achievements, so, you know, I don't care.

If people don't wanna buy the game beacause it HAS multiplayer and for that reason alone they're just being daft puppies and will be missing out on the final story of Commander Shepard. Not OUR loss. Atleast not mine, I already got it pre-ordered since way back.

True but that also means even more locked content.

Multiplayer and LDC (Locked Disc Content) is like bread and butter with game developers these days.

God I hope Bioware doesnt turn into Activision with LDC, jesus. :S

And theres no "news" if it being on one disc but how many games actually have two discs for one game? Mass Effect 2 did but so do alot of EA-xbox games, on the PS3 it was just one disc.

That only applies to the PS3, which uses blu-ray.  And according to Jesse Houston, they were wondering if they'd have to go to BD50.

I do care about achievements, they add extra side-tasks to the game which are usually good, and I always try to complete them where I can.

Adding Co-op and MP makes those achievements unattainable to someone like me that wants to play ME3 purely as I expectected it to be. i.e. an SP RPG par excellence, especially as Co-op and MP has NEVER even been mentioned until now!

So one or two achievements is really that big a deal?  I mean, do you really think it's going to be even half MP achievements?  And it's not like ME has a history of particularly interesting achievements anyway.  They're very often brainless and dead-easy busywork like "Watch these four videos we made about combat that are completely unecessary because we cover that stuff in the game!"

You could totally tell it was originally meant to be a combat mission too, because there were a bunch of explosive crates littered about.
