Hm, a footnote in the new OXM article mentions "Army of One, Two or Three" and explains that if you don't have a full team of four, there are no fill-in bots so you'd better be leveled. The same article mentions that you gain experience even if you fail a mission though, so I guess people who really, really do not want to play with anyone else but would still like to experience the content can just die a hundred times, build up toward god mode status and attempt to wipe the floor on their lonesome.

It was just a footnote at the bottom of a page though, no word from Casey.

I take it that means you CAN do "co-op" on your own without anyone's help, right?

If that's the case, then awesome. Like Terrorist Hunt from Rainbow Six: Vegas; technically it was meant to be played co-op but you can do it on your own if you so choose.

Yeah. I actually posted a transcript for that entire section of the article in a couple of other threads if you're interested, although it doesn't mention the footnote because it was... well, because it was a footnote. Down at the bottom of the page, quick little blurb.

Yeah, you can do it, apparently, although I'd remain cautiously optimistic until we get official confirmation of it since it didn't have a quote from Casey like much of the rest of the article did. It'd be really hard at first though but since you gain experience relative to how long you survive a mission even if you die before completing it, not impossible, I suppose...

What really gets me excited is the idea that in the single player game - this "Galactic Readiness" involves some level of resource management, fleet management etc.

This is EXACTLY the kind of thing I've been crying out for since the ending space battle during ME1.

Me too good man.

Me too.  That said, ME3 is looking pretty freaking amazing. Particularly if you can play the co-op sections without other players! That is awesome!

"customers, we have multiplayer - but if you don't like multiplayer, you can play those sections without multiple players!" Which is EXACTLY what I'll do! BRING IT ON!

I wonder if its going to be sort of like Sins of a Solar Empire ^_^

When I first read about it, the game that actually popped into my head was Empire at War. I could imagine them doing a very cut down version of 4x almost - and i would not be opposed to that in anyway.

If it came out as something like Sins though - well - ME3 just went to the top of my all time favourite games 6 months prior to release.

Reviving teammates? Horde mode? How much more can ME3's multiplayer be like Gears of War...

I'm so glad Bioware is going back to its roots of making single player RPGs with optional multiplayer aspects. Little known fact, four of the first five games Bioware made as a company had multiplayer.

Sounds better than the generic competitive multiplayer.

So 6 playable races: Turian, Krogan, Asari, Salarian, Quarian and Drell.

That's too bad, I was looking forward to playing Volus :D 'twould be the most fun. Just imagine Volus Vanguards and you'll understand why :)

I can understand the humor but the codex themselves mention that Volus can't fight hence why they always have bodyguards. They are just like the Hanar in this sense.

Yeah, true. It would mostly be just for the lolz, but I understand them not being available to fight along.

Are you sure? I can already picture rage threads created by fans of the Quarian race...

Pfft...They just need better armor. Perhaps miniature Atlus mechs with spherical cockpits that the volus sits in.

The stuff from OXM has made me even more excited. You can play solo, so people who aren't into MP can still enjoy it (I'm looking forward to playing online with people but I know some people aren't, so its good news for them). The whole War Assets thing sounds pretty nifty too.

On another note, does anyone know if there's an episode of Pulse about MP today? I heard there was but I can't remember where form. If it is on, what time is it on? (And which timezone).

10 or 11 PST? Which means 3 or 4pm in England. I hate waiting.

Actually I think you will be able to watch it at 5pm in England. My bad with the 5 hours left thing.
