After reading the OP, I must admit that I am disgusted. I pre-ordered ME3, and instead of putting all resources into making it a great game, they added this other "content" that I am not interested in. What BS. I play ME when I have time, I don't want to play with folk I don't know, and I don't want to schedule my playing time around when I can find three other folk, I do know, can play. What a disaster. I have xbox live and never play multiplayer ( I have it to get updates and DLC ), not to play damnnnn multiplayer.
Its like was mentioned all these months about adding other stuff to the game - we were worried that it would take away from the resources to make the game better. Damn, now you are telling me that not only you took resources away from the main game, but to access content that is relevant to the single player game I play must play multiplayer?
You just stole content from my pre-order!

Pen and paper RPGs are the inseration of all video game rpgs. Are you forgeting a Game called Never winter nights that is D&D in electronic form made by this very company?

BioWare says in the faq that your MP experience will affect your "galactic readiness". It's affecting your SP experience. I am making assumptions but I think they're logical ones. The only alternative is that they have no impact other than on some stupid "points" system. Both option are BS and I want to part of them.
From the fact that there is an iOS game and some other stuff, I'm leaning towards the points only assumption. That also makes it the most portable and optional (if it weren't just points you'd have more complexity and more cost and I thought the point of all this according to some people is for the ca$h).
At this stage I just want clarification on just what level of impact and how the system will work as it stands. Hardly asking the world in asking such questions. Even if doesn't get answered right away. I think that is what both me and Sedrik plus others are asking for at the moment.

And the main part of that was single player.

"it is still possible to achieve the optimal, complete ending of the game in Mass Effect 3 through single-player alone."
I'm going to make plaques with this
I'm going to hire blimps all over the world with this text attached to it
I'm going to convince Google to make flashing signs on every webpage known to man
They still won't get it.
It's really not that complicated. I fight battle at planet X in MP. my SP campaign gets content (cutscenes, dialogue, resources, allies, whatever) in relation to that. If I don't fight that battle in MP, I can still beat the Reapers but I won't get those cutscenes, dialogue, or whatever in my SP experience.
It's not about optimal outcomes. It's about content.
I think I understand now....I think.
And if I understand correctly, however succesful(or unsuccesful) you are in co-op, it effect how you intect with the single player game and how it interacts with you...so if my "readiness bar" is only half ready then despite all I have done in Mass Effect 1/2, I'll have a 50% chance of saving the galaxy...
F*** THIS S***!

Pen and paper RPGs are not comparable to a single player video game.

They haven't taken resources away from the SP. They have two different teams dedicated to each respective mode. And the "optimal" ending is probably just poor wording. What they probably mean is that you'll get another ending to the SP game if you play MP. This gives players initiative to at least try out the MP.

Why does that matter and how is that any different from any other game? They all have multiplayer achievements these days, doesn't stop me from not playing themNashiktal wrote...
I am concerned that achievements will be tied into the multiplayer.

Yes because of the 2 million plus people who played ME2 there were so many people clamoring for coop play in a single player game. There were what, 50, 100 people who were calling for multiplayer? Trying to say the people who post on BSN somehow represent the greater playing base is asinine. Not to mention you're making the assumption that the majority of people are going to like the multiplayer. How much you want to bet that there are at least 100 threads in the first week after release ripping the multiplayer?Eshaye wrote...

Yeah because holy sh*t Bioware actually listened to it's players and gave us the best of both worlds. There's absolutely no reason to rejoice here at all.
Go home you constant negative goiter people.

No, actually, probably 95% of the time, the chapter (and cut content) would be on the disc already.

Well, guess what! You don't have to!
You can play single-player, fill up that galactic bar using other methods and get all the same benefits as if you did multiplayer. I imagine it'll be a seperate button, and all you have to do is not push it! Bam, problem solved.

Irrelevant. If you don't like dlc, don't buy it. See how easy that was? By your logic, we would not have expansions, sequels, or spin-offs because the developers didn't provide the entire storyline in one box. It's a weak man's argument at best.
Make it harder.Quole wrote...
