So... explain this "Galactic Readiness" system to me, Chris. If you are boiling the entire fricking franchise and trilogy story to a meter in the corner of my screen, what becomes so the HOURS of time I've invested into all of those side missions and decisions from Mass Effect 1 and 2? What happens to every little thing I've done and obtained in my story? In MY story?
Or did you decide to get rid of that quality and luxury as well so you could cater to the masses? Wouldn't want to scare them off with a big, scary storyline that they might actually have to get into before they start the rail-shooting with their buddies, right?
How did having a suicide mission defense score affect all your cutscenes and decisions in ME2? I think that one is simple to understand if you think about it for a bit. Not being mean, just pointing out the obvious. The mechanic has been used before, with countless variations in the previous game. Imagine instead that you have an epic final showdown with the reapers on earth, and every choice you made shows up in orbit, on the ground, and in the Reaper's faces?
Saving the Krogan from the genophage could up your score, that doesn't mean its on the Shepard can win bar and it doesn't show up anywhere else. Imagine a ragtag group of Krogan, no Krogan at all, or a massive Krogan fleet dropping in to headbutt some reapers.
