Hey, who knows? Bioware could still remove it and devote the rest of the resources to improving SP.

Don't think that will happen buddy, sorry to say.

So how much space will this "optional" content be wasting on the game disc, and will any single player content have to cut to make room for this crap??  :crying:

Indeed.

This. I'll be pissed if I run into ANOTHER Conrad Verner glitch.

What I expect is for the story to suck really bad and have no closure, the gameplay to be quite good, the dialogue wheel to be implemented incompetently yet again, previous decisions to make virtually no impact on anything again, and Garrus to misinterpret my friendliness as an invitation to butt**** me. And, yes, probably some mind-numbing BS padding.

But like I said, I still have some hope.

Dude, if I expected that out of a game, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.  Why even bother?

You know what annoys me? People hating on a completely optional part of the game.
You can get your readiness up both ways. One involves shooting hordes of enemies with other players. The other involves the story of alliances, betrayals, and a whole lot of butt-kicking.
It will probably take the same amount of time to do the same thing, except you can go through the story, or play with friends.
Personally, I'm gonna play coop, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to play the entire game.

*flame alert*
One more thing- Its a non-competitive game. Stop whining that one group has an advantage. Does it really matter?

The "optimal ending" worries me. Where are the hard choices&consequences?
Hopefully I can use a save game editor to fix my "galactic readiness" without Co-Op.

Any particular reason you keep deliberately misquoting me?  'Cause I'd really rather you'd knock it the hell off.  Thanks a bunch.

I seem to remember something else Mass Effect-y with the word 'Galaxy' in its name. That was supposed to have some kind of effect on ME2 buuuut....

I'm still not happy about this.

This should have been a stand alone downloadable game and not have been attached to Mass effect 3 proper. I'm a completionist and despite the fact that I have a choice of not playing this, I will feel forced to since I want to play all aspects of a game that I paid $60 for. A lot of gamers are like me in this regard so a lot of people will essentially be forced to play this just to get the most out of the game.

I don't get it. You're complaining that you feel forced to play something you don't want to play, not because the co-op is required to complete the SP campaign or to get the best ending for it...but simply because it's there?

Sounds like the problem is coming from within, not without.

Mass Effect 3 will probably have 2 discs on PC and 360 just like ME2, maybe even 3.  I don't think disc space will be an issue.

2 choices man; deal with it or don't buy it.  Whining on the forums does nothing except make yourself look like a child.
It's a game, Bioware's game.

Sure, but the onus is on them to convince me to buy their game. "Whining" is also called voicing your opinion as a consumer. If they really listen like they claim (which they don't, or they wouln't have included it in the first place) they'll be taking the negative reaction into account.

The fact that their Twitter says :"There will be a multiplayer component for ME3. Full details soon, so wait until then before making your decision. We think you'll like it!"  tells me they knew it was going to ****** people off, but they did it anyway, for the cash and for the dudebros who look for that bullet point.

This is definitely the best way Multiplayer could have been implemented into ME3, and it actually sounds quite compelling!

My biggest concern however is that DLC resources will be diverted from great single-player story pieces into new 'battles' for Multiplayer.

I have decided to make this the very last thing I check out. I will first start with the singelplayer and work on maxing out the Galaxy at War bar on my own. Once it's all done, I can redirect to the multiplayer mode. I still hope there are no achievements associated with it, though.

Right.  'Cause two separate disc and box printings are really quite practical. Oh, wait: make that four. Gotta have two different editons of the CE (which are only practical because they charge significantly more for them).   At best, you can hope it's just in DLC form.  Sorry, but economic realities aren't on your side here.

And forcing people to buy Xbox live to play part of the game is?

In all likelihood I won't. As I said, I expect the gameplay to be good, but if the rest meets my expectations then I certainly will not bother.

And it helps Microsoft becasue people will be mroe tempted to get Xbox Live in order to access the extra content, so everyone wins!

Ummmm, the consumers kinda lose really badly here don't they?

You're upset because they didn't listen to you.  BSN hardly represents the entire ME fanbase.  Plenty of people are looking forward to it
