There are too many elements that make me want to play the game right now, and this MP feature helps.

Good to hear, the game will be KICKASS.

Bioware has done nothing wrong, they've made the SP game, while another team worked on multiplayer. If anything, the game will be better because of this. And just because you don't have xbox live doesn't mean you lose the game experience, it just means you'll miss out on what you're already missing out of without Live.

So using the co-op affect the single-player campaign? Interesting. I really hope that you don't need to use it to get the "best ending", though :<

he said it dosent and that you can still get the best possible endings without it.

Holy shiznit, four more pages just while trying to catch up. Bummer to the Canadians who found themselves CYA'ing like crazy after the cover story leak this morning - working to calm fervor is not how I'd want to spend my Turkey Day.

As to the op, we'll all have to wait and see. Though some info is given, as should be expected from this kind of CYA it isn't exactly specific. And it can't be. Still, nothing seems to be generating much positive response to the MP. Obviously, not here, but also not across several different gaming sites or news outlets - who knew ME would get attn from msnbc and usa today as breaking news, lol!

In this seriously down economy, with so many short on disposable income, everything is trending down on sales fronts. That will most assuredly decide how 'popular' MP is for ME buyers.

Looking for cross demographic applicability is great, but when money is tight will folks really spend sixty or eighty bucks on what's supposed to be an RPG just for some piece of MP? Or will they wait and spend it on the next installment of their fav/tried and delivered T/FPS MP's instead? My guess is the latter. Unless the RPG part falls to the wayside... Which most of us hope won't be the case, but after DA2(which I have enjoyed no doubt, but not as an RPG and certainly not as part of the DA universe)...

Seeing as how you have the incorrect answer literally standing in your sig, I'd expect you be surprised.

Wait... what?

A not-so-sublte joke on EA being the culprit behind all this. :P

Re-read your quoted post.  Notice any changes?

I'm guessing all that the MP will do for Campaign is give you some bonus swag and maybe have a brief cameo by your multiplayer team (unlikely but i think it would be cool)

Dear Bioware. I really wanted to like the Mass Effect Universe but you fractured it to every genre and platform you could think of. You even turned it into a 3rd person shooter with multiplayer.

You tell me that all these things are "optional" but for someone that wants to find something to play and enjoy it just isn't worth the money. I play games based on the type of game I want to play... and I want a good story to go along with it. One I can follow without having to dig up all the comic books, regular books, iPhone games, etc.

Unfortunately I have no idea what ME is anymore. Is it an action game? Is it an RPG? Is it a dialog game? is it on online multiplayer game? The problem is, 'yes' - but by extending the feature set and storylines so far you have lacked to do any of it amazingly. Do I like the main story line, sorta - at this point I just hope the game has a good explanation of how I beat a race of reapers when it took the whole galaxy all its strength to beat just one.

If it does that, I'll finish the trilogy happy and go back to supporting games that know what type of gamer they are really aiming at. I just wanted you to know that you got one sale for ME3 only because I already feel obligated to finish it. Not because I like the path you took the franchise.

I wish your franchise a bright future with other gamers.

Bolded for emphasis. As it is, my interest in gaming is at AN ALL-TIME LOW. Modern Warfare 3's going to suck. I never gave a rat's ass about SkyRim, and as it is, only Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, and Saints Row 3 are the only games i desire.

I'm STILL ON THE FENCE for Aliens: Colonial Marines, BioShock Infinite, and True Crime: Hong Kong.

Fair enough, though some people do seem quite disgruntled.

True say; though we can't expect everyone to respond positively to a rather large change like this.

Honestly, I'm more concerned about MP making it way too easy to get the best possible ending(s).

You're upset because they didn't listen to you.  BSN hardly represents the entire ME fanbase.  Plenty of people are looking forward to it

And plenty of people aren't. Someone else posted earlier that the reaction on places like Facebook was extremely negative compared to here.

Somehow, I don't think a lot of people were genuinely asking for this.

Agreed. This dualplayer element better be really weak so it doesn't overshadow the real game. (Like portal 2 dualplayer) That's the best I can hope for right now. How will they preserve the rpg element and have a dualplayer? Will it be a massive rpg or just a shooter? How do they expect to pull this off?

I'm sure that this multiplayer will be a very small part of the game...

My guess is that they're going to use it as a sort of test; see what people think of the multiplayer, how it can be improved...then Bioware will take what it learns from the multiplayer to better implement it in future Mass Effect games...

Just a guess, though...

I canceled my pre-order for Arkham City, because you just know there's going to be a re-release with all the DLC included.

The way gamers are getting anally raped by DLC is shameful.
