Screw this, I hate the idea of multiplayer, it's going to detract from the... wait... Krogan? I can actually play as a Krogan?
This sounds really, really, really awesome. Thanks for the update Chris, it clears up a lot.

So, getting an optimal outcome will be harder if I don't play MP and I don't want to play MP. It is my choice not to play, but doing so will gimp me.

Better be a brilliant SP campaign.

ME3 is a story about a war against overwhelming force where the most you can hope for us survival. The more you do to fight that war, the more you can change that story into a more optimistic one. You can reach the highest levels of success in the single player experience alone, but Galaxy at War gives you alternative ways to get there. It’s about choice, and allowing players to find their own ways to stay immersed in the Mass Effect universe.

Question. Is this co-op multiplayer going to be a thing where I have 3 people on the same system or will it be like where I can choose 3 of my friends on Xbox Live?

I like the route Bioware is going with this, they are doing their best not to negate the single player experience. And if you don't like multiplayer, well as they said, you don't have to play it.

Sounds good to me so far, I always wanted to play ME in co-op with my son.

I would love to take all the credit, but Jesse Houston adn Nick Clifford worked hard to get this ready once we had the info go public a tad earlier than we thought.

Thanks guys.

I just thanked Jesse.

This sounds incredible, Chris. Can't wait.

Hello Mr Priestly...a question: Will we have custom option face sliders in the co-op?

In multiplayer, players will create custom characters to fight on different and unique fronts in the war. This will include the ability to play as favorites like Turians, Krogans, Asari and more… each with their own unique set of abilities...

Woah...

Now I am a little interested...

*imagines making a stunning turian infiltrator*

That's fracking amazing. Seriously thanks so much BioWare, I get a feeling I sink many hours into this. And it  will be my first Co-op game ever. ME1 was my first shooter, so it is fitting. Thanks for introducing me to new styles of play. <3

OK, read everything. Wasn't expecting it to be close to the campaign but I see it's somehow separated too lol.

Let's see how it is in 2 days. I hope there's some good footage.

So...that means I'm actually missing out on some actual story? Not Shepard's story but of the rest of the galaxy...

Well, technically, you always were.

So using the co-op affect the single-player campaign? Interesting. I really hope that you don't need to use it to get the "best ending", though :<

The post states that you don't.

As for me, I can't decide if I dislike the multiplayer impacting the single player. I suppose it would depend on how it is applied. Either way, it's probably going to be interesting. I guess I'll put myself down as 'warily intrigued.'

Oh, okay. I'll probably try the co-op, though, if only to see if it's fun.

Success in multi-player will have a direct impact on the outcome of the single player campaign

Was all I needed to hear in order to know I shouldn't purchase anything by BioWare from now on. Feck this sh!t.

Did you even bother to read the word alternative in that sentence? No? Fine then go away.

Optimal does not mean all possible endings in the main game.

True but he never said that the CO-OP would lead to exclusive endings.

Which is why I'm asking for clarification from Chris or anyone @ Bioware whether it will exclude an ending possability at all from all the possiblities in the single player main game if do not take part in MP. Whether it has any effect on single player main game cutscenes, dialogue or endings at all if do not play MP.

Mass Effect 3 is going to be better because of its multiplayer mode than if it weren't there.

And I actually mean it.

Why Priestly? I was content in watching people rage until Wednesday. Now I can't freaking wait until ME3 comes out.

Excellent and informative post, thanks Chris. And wow, what a lot of info at once ...

Co-op within the context of a larger Galaxy at War system sounds really intriguing, a sign that Bioware have really been thinking about integrating MP in a way that makes sense to the ME universe.

Now my question for the anti-social completists among us: can we play the co-op missions with bots? :)

Thanks for getting the info sooner than what was originally planned. I like it, sounds promising, stands alone yet it can complement the sp without being obligatory, and probably adds more depth to the scope of the game (not only sheps squad is doing some fighting)

So...I have to ask. Will I be able to play the co-op missions solo with AI teammates?

If this isn't possible at the moment, could you please look into implementing it?

Dang it, Evil Chris! Way to make MP sound really kinda interesting. Raising my stupid hopes again *grumble*

And like AdmiralCheez, I'm freaking out about playing as my own turian. Gah! As far as I'm concerned, ME3 is all good once again.

Cause at least we now have decent information instead of some vague stuff. ^_ ^ Though I do hope playing the co-op missions with AI companions will be possible.
