Galactic readiness sounds like a really boring mechanic - rather than interesting decisions with varied consequences, you'll get a bonus to readiness for making the "right" choice and for ticking the boxes by completing all the quests.

Now that Casey said it, I have no problem with this anymore. (Maybe a bit, but still, I'll trust Casey)
i think the same thing, but they designed the mp in a way that no one could have expected

And the "Galaxy at War" stuff sounds like nothing more than a way of shoehorning marketing into the game. No doubt you'll get readiness for playing facebook games, drinking Doctor Pepper and buying DLC.
Got me worried for the Singleplayer storyline.

Other than the pandering part, I'm going to wait and see just how negatively the multiplayer part will impact the single player part. I can't say I really trust Bioware since they've sold... er... teamed up with EA. I just hope that what they're saying is true and that it is just another route to achieve the same goal and that we're not punished for not playing the co-op crap. Frankly, I can't stand multiplayer anything, so I definitely won't be bothering with the co-op part.
Don't f**k this up Bioware. Oh, and please tell EA to go f**k themselves (you know, stand up for yourselves?) and make sure the game is released on Steam without requiring Origin.

And if you want to get all the achievements....then ya kinda have to play the whole game...including dlc...you made that choice by deciding to 100% the game...otherwise...leave those achievements alone...it's not like they'll get you anywhere in life...

I'm still not seeing the problem. Multiplayer simply provides an alternative method for players to collect resources, which will allow them to obtain the best possible ending. This can still be achieved by playing the single player only.
My fear is they're essentially trying to wedge two totally separate games into a single title, and one or the other (or both) will end up broken as a result. No one wants that, least of all me. And the underhanded way this was handled.
I need to cool off

This just seems like an attempt to jump on the bandwagon. What's next? The soundtrack is going to be done by Nickelback?

Bioware was making co-op games long before those precious ones that you hold so dear, nooblet
Edit: If anything, they were "pandering" to newcomers like yourself by accepting the now industry standard of having console single player RPGs with no multiplayer. This is a return to their previous state.

So eloquently put, mwins. I'm sure they'll listen to you as you're obviously such a natural public speaker.

But, from what Chris posted on the 1st page I'll also admit I was probably wrong. It's probably the fact that so many other "mutli-player" or "co-op" games have bad single-player Campaigns and put the focus on the multi-player aspect.
I probably won't play much co-op...mainly because I'm pretty much useless unless there is some way to pause...but the entire description of the co-op components of ME3 sound like they'll be giving us something for free that many players would have gladly paid extra for.
Can't be certain until I actually play the Game, but it sounds like Bioware did a good job of seperating the two different playstyles.

Dont get me wrong i'll still play the singleplayer game to death and that shall be my main focus but wow the chance to do co op with my friends on my favriote game trilogy ever its just awesome. I love the fact that its stand alone from the main game and that you dont play as any of the main in game characters you have to make your own, thats awesome as it keeps the single player and this co op mode seperate.
It sounds like this mode has been extremely well thought out, planned ans created so its going to feel like a natural expansion of something thats good by making it that little bit better. And it doesnt detract from the singleplayer experiance at all which was everyones biggest fears. I for one cant wait as this new feature sounds awesome, i'm glad i kept my faith in you BioWare as i have been richly rewarded and knew you wouldnt mess this up.
What i dont understand is why people are saying that they hate it and that it will ruin it already before actually having a chance to play it, you never know guys you could end up loving it.

Oh, the Facebook game is coming. That was the entire point of renaming EA2D (makers of DA: Legends) as BioWare San Francisco.

I can understand the fear. But at the same time, I can see an argument for allowing multiple methods to the same goal. Take all the complaints about planet-scanning. While the best case scenario might be to eliminate all resource-gathering, at the very least multiplayer does offer another option for any players who don't want to engage in planet scanning. Ultimately, it's not the best case scenario (since it still involves a grind), however it allows more options in terms of how players deal with that style.

As it is though, his suggestion of the possibility of an AI controlled team option or even a soloable (i.e. no. of players based difficulty slider) has temporarilly suspended my descent into livid lunacy - a compromise of either sort would be most welcome and I for one would endorse such an implementation 100%.
