Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War and 4 player co-op multiplayer announced

What I'd like to see is that completing the missions help/hurt Shepard's efforts or introduce new minor plot elements. Like doing one mission negatively impacts your position with the krogan, but strengthens humanity's ties to the turians because they helped saved one of their vital shipyards. Thus, you have to do more to win over the krogan but less to gain turian support and they're in a better position with more ships and firepower.
If you played a vanilla game w/out this... then instead you'd hear about how the shipyard went down and to get that support you have to do X instead, which may also irritate the krogan.

I laugh at anyone who cancels their preorder over this. I'm sorry, but how stupid and ignorant can you be?
And how arrogant are you to think that they are ignorant for choosing to change their minds on what they spend their money on for whatever reason they deem applicable. Free will and freedom of choice.

This is just pure speculation on my part, but I would imagine it would involve loading a Shepard profile. I can't imagine them just giving you points universally for all your Shepard characters. Some people would just play Co-op and then be able to do the most imperfect run-through of all three games and still get a "perfect" ending. So I would imagine you could keep it separate from your Shepard by simply perhaps creating a new Shepard/game?IronSabbath88 wrote...
But we also don't know if you CAN play co-op and not have it affect singleplayer, right?
For instance, let's say I just want to roll co-op with my buddies but I have no intention of having it affect singleplayer, we do not know if that is an option yet.

I find it funny that Bioware implements a multiplayer that fits into the universe, is stand-alone from the campaign apart from giving a boost to areas we do not know yet, and is more than just a second player tacked on the existing SP content (which is the perfect way to add a MP experience imo), and yet people still shed tears of drama and talk about cancelling their pre-orders. Other people will be able to play multiplayer, is this really that big of deal? Why does it make some angry? I just can't understand. Don't friggin play it if you don't want to.
I can't speak for everyone who is...skeptical about Mass Effect MP, but for myself, no matter how many claims are made to the contrary, I worry that developing a multiplayer aspect to ME3 could have negatively impacted the single player experience. I already had some issues with decisions made for ME2, storywise, and I want an epic conclusion to Shepard's saga. I was hoping that the extra development time was for refining the single player campaign, making sure that the story and the gameplay were as epic as possible for the finale of the series.
Finding out that something other than SP is being worked on...well, that worries me. I could very well be worried for nothing, the MP very well may enhance the game and the SP may be the most epic conclusion I could have asked for...but I might not be. That's why I think adding MP isn't the best idea. It's done now, and I'll hafta accept it, and hope for the best. I just pray that I'm wrong, that MP won't adversely affect SP, and hope that BioWare does it right.

I like the concept of these missions having an impact on the SP experience. Things do happen outside of the control of my Shepard. As such, if a squad of Alliance Marines or Turian Commandos managed to capture some key points or defend a high value facility from the enemy and that helps my Shepard do his job... I'm all for it.
This sounds... great.

@Dragoonlordz I think the "readiness" is measured as a level. With multiple ways to raise that level. I imagine ow you raise it doesn't affect dialogue, content etc directly. So I'm pretty sure not playing co-op doesn't mean you miss out on singleplayer content at all.
I am asking / waiting for actual details about this, from the developers tomorrow rather than relying on what I or anyone else may think it means because they or I could be wrong.

Yes. Multiplayer having any effect whatsoever on singleplayer is an unacceptable development to me. For me it's more about the principles and making a stance against this kind of development.Rovay wrote...

Well, one thing is choosing a different path inside the singleplayer experience, the other is missing content for not playing a complete and different gameplay or gametype.

They'll just tell you that the character never could have been more than a cameo not matter the added money/time they would have if their was no multiplayer, and that those multiplayer side missions would never have been signle player missions instead.mauro2222 wrote...
Well... I'm not very excited about this, in fact I'm somewhat dissapointed, but if this "experiment" is the reason of why a character became a cameo or side missions dissapeared...Then, I'm going to kill somebody (well, more like a rage than anything).

Well, yes. If there is a mode in any game that you do not play, you are missing content. But I think you're confusing the singleplayer content with co-op. There are two different teams working on this, so I doubt Bioware decided to cut some singleplayer content out and stick it in co-op. You're not losing content, just deciding not to play an optional extra.
