This sounds extremely lame. Can't believe my eyes. Since its four player co-op, it means one continuous shootfest.

Four player co op can be more than that. I have fond memories of Conflict Desert Storm for example.

It's impossible to tell what this will involve right now, considering they have bigged up tactics for single player I would be surprised if co op was a dumbed down frag fest. My biggest fear is that it will lack variety, but we'll see.

Would be ironic that the only place you can find female turians is in the MP mode...

maybe a facebook game is most likely.

Perhaps. We already know iOS companion game is being developed.

Read what you just said. If the MP route is easier than the SP route, then the SP route is by definition harder than the MP route. If that's not "punishment" I'm not sure what is.

I'm OK with this anyway, personally. Getting everyone through the Suicide Mission safely in ME2 was too easy.

well in fact it was actually i had no trouble with it i don't know what people od to make their characters die in the first place it was hard for me to getb  them to die when they were loyal

I am split. First its there is no impact on the single player campaign but then the Galaxy at War mode allows you to raise the "Galactic readiness level" which impacts the single player campaign? Why? I understand its an alternative to raising the level solely thru single player campaign only but wont that cheapen the story somewhat? Wont it reduce the urgency of the situation... (one man leading an unprepared galaxy against an almighty reaper fleet) when suddenly the galaxy turns out not to be unprepared after all.

If I do manage to make three friends btwn now and launch :D i will play multiplayer, after all I would have bought the game, which I feel is going to be worth every penny of those 90 preorder Euros.

Is your sole purpose in life to be a miserable negative-nancy?

I feast on your tears. They are delicious.

Do you mind sharing those tears? I'm a bit parched right now.

The implementation of co-op sounds interesting, and...it is completely optional. As long as the single-player campaign itself has roughly the same amount of time as ME2 did, then I'm fine with the new addition.

Which Jesse Houston has confirmed is the case too!

Wait, am I reading this right? The "galactic readiness" thing in the SP campaign will be determined by some MP "Galaxy at War" feature?

(goes back and reads OP again)

I *did* read it right! Holy crap, BW, way to fook it right up. This will be interesting...

And yet you still apparently missed the part where readiness isn't solely determined by the MP component, which is entirely uneeded to achieve the maximum, thus allowing you to ignore it entirely if you so choose.

Mass effect is not CoD, will never be CoD, Has never intended to be CoD.

Edit: This is in response to any former comments and future comments in comparing ME to CoD

Not entirely.  The MP can affect the readiness, but so do things in SP and other Galaxy at War unannounced systems (which I'm assuming are also SP).

Unannounced, which means they haven't figured out how the crap to make this **** work in SP yet.

Er, no. The "Galaxy at War" system is pretty blatantly going to involve ME3-style versions of ME2's squad readiness, except this time on a grander scale. So things like wiping out an entire race by accident won't bode too well. That kind of logic.

I agree. I don't see how any of that in any way contradicts what I said.

JeffZero wrote...

Either way, I doubt they haven't figured it out by now since it's the ME3 equivalent of that stuff from 2. It's unannounced because they announce things slowly. That's marketing 101.

GoW is an MP feature, that much is clear. They have "unannounced" methods of allowing SP gamers to get the benefits of the GoW feature in their SP games (so they're not at the disadvantage that they otherwise would be) which means even if this is just Marketing 101, it's still going to suck.

Funny, I never had a problem with the MP thing until now, as I always imagined it would be seperate to the SP game. One more reason not to buy ME3.

Keep believing that there...  Keep believing that.

Sorry but this is a bad idea and I just feel it is going to mess up the game, through bugs, being rushed, or many other reasons.  Yeah, I don't have good feelings about this at all and I am not quick to fall for the PR they rushed out to quell the anger.

It would be the ultimate in hilarity if we get to play as female Turians in multiplayer... But they still aren't in single player.

Still, it needs to happen. They -are- advetising female Shepard a lot, makes sense to let us play as female characters in multi too!

At the very least give us the 'Biotic God' class as an option.

Hmm, I do see your point. But I'm sure Bioware will maintain a sense of emergency, impromptu warfare in the campaign anyway. I mean, remember, we've known for a long time that this is 'a war on many fronts'. Shepard's mission is absolutely the most vital piece of this great, bombastic puzzle, but there were going to be mounted resistances all over the place.

Bioware has done the impossible.

BSN: I'm pissed off. Bioware is nothing but a bunch of liars and money grabbing Candians.

Bioware Dev: In the next game you get to play a Krogan.

BSN: I...really? OMG I love you so much I'll never get pissed again.

Bioware Dev: Of course not <_<

BSN: I'm pissed off. Bioware is nothing but a bunch of liars and money grabbing Candians.

Ironic. It's sort of like the cycle in Mass Effect.

Except instead of happening every 50,000 years, it is more like 50 minutes.

lol your right.

Seriously though BSN is a hilarious little creature.

Will Co-Op overlap with SP in any other way beyond an impact on the number of ''Galaxy Readiness?'' Will we - for example - hear about events in MP during SP?

No, I am the one not drinking the PR kool-aid.

And yeah, still think you are twelve....  Sorry, not a kid here, just concerned about the quality of a great game series.
