How do YOU think the Reapers should be defeated?

I'm seeing varying opinions on the matter. Some want the galactic war to be won simply from hard work and gathering factions and there are some who actually support a complete Deus Ex Machina.

I can see both sides of the issue. Deus Ex Machinas are usually cheap and save the good guys at the 11th hour with little justification, but we also want the Reapers to seem incredibly powerful and worthy of what what the series has built them up to be. We don't want Harbinger, who compares us to dust struggling against the winds of the cosmos, to turn out to be nothing more than a trash-talking weakling who can be defeated easily by the galaxy's currently known forces. That just paints the Reapers as your typical saturday-morning cartoon villains.

So where do you fall in this spectrum? Or does your view not apply to this all together? How do you think the Reapers should be defeated?

Shepard goes to Abeir-Toril and unleashes the fully powered Bhaalspawn, the mighty Charname, upon the Reapers.

Come on, it's a brick joke from over a decade ago! =D

I don't see how they can beat the Reapers in a straight up fight even with the fleets from all the main factions. So I suppose that means I support some discovery that leads to their destruction.

This isn't the same as deus ex machina if it is not dropped in at the last minute. If the plot of the game involves a search for or investigation that leads to this discovery I certainly wouldn't label it that way.

I can see that there will be a moment where Shep will cash favors in an bring to bear a large force against the reapers. The reapers will either win, or be crushed, and everywhere inbetween. What favors and preparations Shep brings will be the decider. Found some protheans and got their plan B rolling? Galactic readiness rises. Found a cure to the Genophage? Galactic readiness rises. Quarians and Geth hug and make up and turn the two largest and most powerful fleets on the reapers? Galactic readiness rises. Kept the Collector base? Galactic readiness rises.  Played Coop despite whining about MP?  Galactic readiness rises.

Just some examples. The Reapers are not invincible super enemies, they are a technologically superior people who are effectively immortal and have had a very long time to plan. The Protheans broke plan A. Shep broke plan B and C. The cycle is broken, but that doesn't mean we automatically win the battle.

Regardless, the Reapers are just machines . . . and machines can be broken.

Used renegade option to troll the english language?  Galactic readiness falls.  But hey, you can fix that in co-op.

Well I think it would be cool if it was actually a Biological Virus that attacks the organic part of the Reapers, but I have feelings that Bioware will have it set up as some secret Prothean weapon

Brute force and Sheps fighting ability are obviously out of the question, but I really hope it isn't some sort of virus. People are already making fun of the game and expecting a Independe Day ending, with Jeff Goldbloom/Shep sending a virus to the Reapers.

I honestly have no ideas at all, just hope it isn't a War of the Worlds or ID ending.

Simple, really.....by finding out what can de-power their shields, you can then take back the earth with the combined might of every single race in the milky way galaxy.

This is the most plausible, rather cliched route.

If the reapers are on a full scale invasion of the earth, where is the rest of the reaper fleet? If the reapers put all their eggs in one basket then it would be possible to swiftly stop them once in for all, but not without tremendous sacrifice.
