We create a superweapon that uses dark energy to invert, nullify, and destroy all mechanisms that tap into biotics. Activating it will destroy the Reapers (think drive cores), but all of the galactic civilization's infrastructure, along with its eezo-related advancements in technology. However, if we harness indoctrination beforehand, we can control the reapers, give them the bomb, and send them on a suicide run out of the galaxy to keep us safe.
...
It's f00L-pr00f!

Develop a weapon that is super effective against shields, use it, and then have Normandy finish it off. Sovereign died from ONE shot from the Normandy as I remember it.

Virus. Simple and easy, but it will take the knowledge of an entire galaxy to create it, so basically your going from world to world. Trying to discover the the keys to this ultimate virus to wipe out the reapers.

Nah all you need is a mac laptop circa 1996 and a nuclear bomb.

Straight up military battle fought according to the Codex. Superweapons are overdone.

(I know that this will never, ever happen)

It's easy. Three steps:
1. Find someone indocrinated.
2. Kill him (or her).
3. Kill him again. That makes the reaper's shields go down, then they die in one shot from a frigate.

I believe The Arrival Showed us how to win.

1) "Leak" that Shepard is preparing a huge fleet to Retake Earth.
(by this I mean let it slip to some slimy human council member who's name starts with U)

2) Have some ships with Mr. Shepard out by Pluto Orbit near Sol system's mass relay

3) have a handy small planitoid (Pluto?) ready with a TON of engines and one good VI.

4) Reapers all roll into Sol System to "Finish this once and for all"

5) Slam Planetoid into Mass Relay.

6) Destroy entire Sol system w/Shep but heroically wipe out the entire Reaper Fleet
(ok MOST of the Reaper Fleet).

Why does it have to be Earth and Shep?:
Because the Reapers would buy it that way.
Some piddly little system that Shep is at - nope
Earth retaike fleet w/o Shep as bait - nope
Both together - yep, they would take the hook and swallow the bait

As it is, even if you destroy most of all the Reaper fleet, you still have one heck of mop up
Probably have to sacrifice a couple dozen Systems before you kill them all

Just a thought.

But... but... If Earth and its population are destroyed, who will secure human dominance throughout the galaxy?

@onelifecrisis But it's not going to be that simple anymore, if you can call that simple, that is. In the event that you managed to convince saren to execute himself, sovereign personally took control of saren's implants that the reaper put in him after virmire. This effectively meant that sovereign assumed control of saren's remains without an intermediary, as was the case with harbinger/collector general. Once you finished him off, you basically lobotomized sovereign, so to speak.

Mario Batali comes out of his kitchen, sees a Reaper, stomps it with one of his crocs, chops it up and serves calamari to the refugees. Otherwise, we have no hope.

Actually, I have no idea and am always wrong with these things, but I would not be surprised if it will involve Shep sacrificing his/her life. Not necessarily Earth, but his life.

It could just happen all War of the Worlds style and they fall prey to the deadly effects of the common cold.

I feel like firepower is kind of useless against them, you know? Aside from fighting their troops on the ground it's gonna be near impossible to make a dent in that many Reapers.

It's gotta be some kind of virus over their network or something.

They should be defeated to the Guile Theme of course. Everything goes with the Guile Theme afterall.

Exhibit "A":

Exhibit "B":

I rest my case.

Destroy relays with Reapers in their systems. Upgunned Thanix cannons. Something, anything, the current ships the galaxy has are hopelessly obsolete, just bows and arrows against the lightning.

A massive joint-species fleet. I don't care if we lose, as long as we lose with a gigantic fleet.

I like splosions.

They get defeated via some means to banish them outside of the galaxy without enough gathered resources to make it back inside of the galaxy under their own power, causing them to starve to death.

Rewrite the EULA for the universe to force them to use Origin. The outgoing datastream will be huge (lots of interesting hardware, for instance) and cause an massive lag, reapers can´t communicate properly anymore and can be finished off one by one.
