I hope Bioware thought of a good "how to beat the Reapers" scenario before ME1 was even made and have been building towards that in all 3 games.

I know for sure NOTHING that I can think of seems satisfying to me as the Reapers really are Giants in the playground. Most of the [serious] responses here don't really look so good either.

If the Reapers can activate/deactivate relays to only recognize them, then we figure out how to turn this against the Reaper fleet. Normandy's IFF, anyone?

Possibility: interdimensional portal from the Star Wars universe opens up, the Empire strolls in, notices humanity is under attack and destroys the entire Reaper fleet in a matter of minutes.

Nerds and the internets tell me Star Destroyers can dish 8000 megatons per second some how. Reapers would be more like 500 kilotons per second or something.

It could actually be simpler than that, just get George Lucas to direct the Reaper sequences.

I think this endings would be very cool:

1: The joined armies of the galaxy fight the reapers in a massive battle, and they win.
2:Cerberus makes another reaper army with the collectors base technololly and defeat the reapers.
3:Some new species appears and defeats the reapers.
4: A secret Prothean weapon.
5: Shepard destroys the reapers central command post, but he sacrifices himself in the prosses.
6: Shepard becomes like Saren and join the reapers.
7: Or, simply, the cicle does not get broken, and the reapers defeat all the intelligent species in the galaxy.

The last one would be intersting, and i like the idea that Shepard sacrifices himself to save the galaxy.
But im sure bioware has great ideas about the ending of mass effect.

I think by the looks of some of the screenshots we already have a clone trooper army

Shepard has to activate an old Prothean weapon that would destroy all reaper life in the universe, but it is on a time. As they are leaving the planet that houses the weapon's activation device and it is slowly crumbling beneath your feet, you are on a human assault all terrain vehicle. You could call it the Wild Boar or something. Garrus is driving it and you are operating the turret. Finally, the vehicle makes a mad dash for the Normandy! The Normandy quickly flies to the nearest mass relay to jump back to the citadel, but oh no! What's this!? Only half of the Normandy makes it through. Everyone was in the front half, except for Shepard, who was in the back. Also, there was a copy of EDI. Everyone assumes Shepard is dead and they have a memorial. Credits roll. But wait! After the credits, it shows the Normandy floating through space, with EDI informing Shepard that she has sent out a distress beacon. Shepard goes into a stasis pod to wait for them to respond, as the shattered husk of the Normandy floats to an off distant planet....

I honestly can't think up a truly satisfying way to do it. There probably is a way some of the better ideas flashing through my mind can be made satisfying, but this whole thing should be a challenge for Bioware. Can't wait to see what comes up.

Plan A: Use the Relays to shoot them into a star, black hole or into a planet at such a velocity that not even they could survive.

Plan B: Headbutt them Krogan style.
