So with the news about the co-op I told some friends who were excited but unfortunately we each own different systems. I have a PC and my friends who I know will be buying this have a 360 and PS3. While I know Microsoft has a problem with cross-platform when Sony is involved, look at Counter Strike:GO and Portal 2, would you guys like cross-platform between PC and the consoles?

As a co-op game I don't see a reason not to have it. Portal 2 is a great game and I love that I can play with my friends who bought it on the PS3 and look at Counter Strike Global Offensive. Cross-platform with a PS3, PC and Mac and the PS3 version even supports mouse and keyboard.

It's fine as long as mouse responsiveness isn't dumbed down or crippled to make it "fair" for console players.

The PC port of Halo 2 was worthless because of this.

It's cooperative multiplayer, not competitive, so I'm not sure how PC players would have an "advantage". Do I want it? Why not. Will we get it? Probably not. Bioware can't even release a game without it having a thousand bugs (DA games for example). I'm more worried about the actual game being bug-free or not, or at least have bugs that don't ruin the entire game.

Well I heard a new Nintendo RPG game can be crosslinked with friends between Wii and Wii U so Microsoft might do the same but I doubt Microsoft or Sony would ever dare work with each other until one ends there console series.

Nobody I know is going to be getting ME3 on PC so I'd love cross-platform co-op so I could actually play with them. I mean, it's not like I'm playing against them so there's no need to worry about PC players being overpowered because they can have more powers mapped and have better accuracy since we'll all be on the same team.

God I'd love if this was Cross-platform. I do very little online co-op, and when I do it's with people I don't know since the only friends who play similar games as me that I'd like to play online have a PS3 and PC and will be getting this for those as well since they have their other files on those. So unless it'll let you import from other systems, which I highly doubt would ever work then Cross-platform is the only way.

It's Bioware so I have faith if they wanted to give it a try and go through the work of dealing with the paperwork and red tape to do so then they could indeed do it.

No, I'm PC elitist and firmly believe that consoles are the main reason gaming has gone to hell and that only people who fail to keybind and mouse propperly opt for such primitive controller as joypad. For ME3 who is going to be shooter first and everything else second, PC is so superior to consoles it's not even funny. I wouldn't want to play with people on consoles because of the simple fact I could play million times better as hardcore player than any sunday gamer on XBOX could.

Seriously, stay with your Uncharteds - stuff like that belongs on consoles but leave real action shooters to real platforms - PC.
Consoles are inferior. Period. Even if given a chance, I wouldn't team with console player if my life depended on it.

And yes, I meant every single word of it and no, I'm not going to apologise for it.

So....because you likely got your ass handed to you one time on a console and hate them you think everyone else should not be able to enjoy playing such an awesome game with their friends who have other gaming equipment? That's selfish, idiotic, and just straight rude.

Plus who says you'd have to play with a console player if it was cross-platform? That's the beauty of having choices, you wouldn't have to play with console users, and console users wouldn't have to put up with you.

Also lets be real there is always someone better, so odds are very very very high there are gamers on a console that could straight up treat you in ME if it was PVP so lighten up and get off your soap box dude.

You can't just lose your troll persona willy-nilly. You got to keep to your posts consistant or some of the mugs around here might catch on.

Back to topic: Ye as long as the multiplayer doesn't develop technical issues because of it. I don't know anything about netcode but i'm guessing making the game cross-platform might complicate things.

I have been playing shooters since I was 6 years old. To propose a random console player - who takes ALL the credit for modern gaming cancers like regenerating health and TIP: Press X to shoot" - could best ME in shooting game is outright preposterous, sorry.

Which is a shame because I'd love to see where games could go if developers were pushing the limits of current gen PC hardware than for the most part focusing on by now outdated console hardware.

ME3 isn't a competitive shooter, i don't understand what you're priding yourself on, headshotting ai enemies quicker? Any serious competitve PC Fps player would laugh at that notion. Besides ME3 is very much a modern shooter coming fully stocked with regenerative health and TIPs, are you just trolling?

I think cross-platform would be sweet. The gamepad/mouse&KB issue is practically non-existent since it's co-op and not PVP (where console players would be at a disadvantage).

Sadly, the industry hasn't seemed to embrace the concept very widely yet.

No. When will you people get it that you physically can't play crossplatroform with a PC? Bot would be more useful to a PC player than someone playing with a pad.

*Giggles.* You clearly have no clue how some pc users are.  Not only do we have hotkeys down, but there are people like me who can headshot snipe at max rendering distance on games that feature MUCH larger distances than Mass Effect (like Fallout 3 and New Vegas, which, btw, good enough computers can often outperform the rendering distance of consoles anyway).  If you adjust your touchpad the right way, it can be more accurate than a lot of people on a controller-- if you're used to gaming on it, and if you know what you're doing.  Not only that, but don't you know that some PC users actually use controllers they've hooked up to their comp?  I personally am worse at aiming rapidly and precisely on a controller, however, but am a rapid sniper on the comp.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.  Cross platform would be -amazing-. I have several friends who play Mass Effect, but all of them are on xbox. :(   I do all my gaming on my gaming laptop, and have no reason to spend more money to have to pay for xbox live, a 360, controllers, and games.  My programmer friend said that usually consoles suffer from lower reaction times than PCs, but since it's all co-op anyway (and let's face it, some people have crappy internet and lag out anyway on PC), it wouldn't put them at a major disadvantage in comparison.

How would it be implemented NO games are cross platform, so why would this be, and why would I want some X-Boxers lagging out my 10Mbps connection or ruining my 60fps, no thanks on cross platform.

Curiously "mbps" is hardly a good measure of lag in mp games. Scratch that, it's completely unrelated.

I still remember having a 640kbps link with 10ms lag.

I think this would be a great idea. Any advantage between control methods wouldn't matter as it is a co-operative mode and I can't see why it wouldn't be possible as it runs on EA's servers.

I own all three Mass Effect games on PC and 360 by the way.
