I thought the problem was that consoles, due to lack of sufficiently accurate controllers, rely on auto-aim to some extent, making cross-platform a joke (let's see who has the better aimbot).

As long as it's a coop why not. Targeting efficiency between consoles and PCs are a real problem only when you bring competitive PvP in.
