I realize this, Brenon. But I'd *really* like to be able to play through the co-op missions solo if I so desire. It's not always easy to get someone to play with you at your leisure, and sometimes you just want that extra challenge. Moreover, a lot of games that offer a co-op mode have the option to let you play solo (e.g. Horde mode in Gears of War, Firefight in Halo, Terrorist Hunt in Rainbow Six: Vegas).

Just my two cents as a player.

I agree, this will make many Mass Effect fans very pleased methinks. May even bring back those poor souls who decided to cancel their pre-orders too early.

Well said, it's not like it costs them anything if you allow people to use the same exact feature solo. Why would they even consider removing it?

hmmm....or...just like what Valve did with Left 4 dead 2 (not 1). No friendly fire, but give the characters soundbites when they are being fired upon by their teammates. Some of the quotes in that game are hilarious.

But it would be ideal to allow people to play co-op missions solo (and maybe even off-line?). It's not only about people who don't like MP. It's also about the fact sooner or later, the MP in ME3 will lose its popularity and if someone will feel like playing the co-op missions in 3-4 years or so, he/she may have BIG problem if there's no one to play with and it is required to have a partner.

Allowing solo play can only be a benefit in so many ways.

Thanks, I was seriously concerned for awhile there. My friends who are buying ME3 are a bunch of console peasants;) (I own both consoles too, but play on pc mostly) so I can't play with them, and I really don't like playing with random people. I don't mind the challenge of soloing the co-op content, but I just want to experience all possible content the game has to offer (and if the challenge is too hard, I'll just turn the difficulty down).

Oh great, so we will be forced to play MP if we want 100% in our singleplayer game. Thanks. Now just do like Ubisoft and add ridiculous achievements that force you to grind the MP you don't want to play and we'll be all set.

That is what all the debating and articles and everything on co-op has come across to me about the issue that means the most to me about MP and I would like to know if [what I think it is], actually [is what it is] so I can understand and move on. Else I am no further ahead of when this whole co-op news was released.

Please let folks there know that this will make or break the mode -- and maybe ME3 -- for a lot of us who aren't happy with MP. I will have no problem with co-op if I can play locally solo (split-screen would be nice too, but solo is a must). There's an excellent chance I'll sell my copy after "deciding how it ends" if not.
