I hate to admit it but I am no good with puzzles so I though I'd start a thread where we can help each other out.  Mark of the Assassin was  great but there were quite a few puzzles that gated optional content and I gave up on a few in frustration.  So if you have a solution go ahead and post is here, I'll edit my first post to include it and credit you. 
Images/Video assistance is double appreciated.  As solutions are posted I will arrange them in the order they are usually encountered.  Try to  keep spoilers to a minimum.  If I'm missing something let me know


Luring The Alpha Wyvern

Seems to be the lure that people keep missing is the mating call.  Here are two screenshots that should help people find the area to trigger the needed cutscene.  One of the three ingridients for the poison salve is located nearby as well if you are still looking for that.

Gate Puzzle - if you are having problems follow the video exactly. If still unable to loot the chests let me know.

This is pretty easy it's simply having Tallis and Hawke mirror each others movements on their respective switches.  Watching the video shows how simple it is.   However it seems that sometimes you can only loot one side of loot before the other bugs out.  Make sure that Hawke and Tallis are both standing on the switches in front of the chest to be able to loot.




Flip Puzzle in The Vault

The idea is to flip the tiles to the picture is completely revealed on the other side.  Just click on each tiles once in the numbered order.  I believe this is the fastest solution to this puzzle if you have a betterone let me know.  The picture is oriented as if you just walked into the alcove, that is the exit is towards the bottom of the image. Fire Tile Puzzle

Solution thanks to Merci357

Simply flip the tiles to these patterns,  The pictures that are revealed by completing other puzzles show how they are  done.  The solutions are given by their place on the map if the top is considered North.

Yes, the paintings that appear on the walls when you finish the paint puzzles and the flip portrait puzzle.

When you solve the other puzzles, they unveil paintings of people. Flip the tiles that correspond to the people wearing hats.

Just a quick off-topic question.

The MOTA page said that there was supposed to be a bonus item (ring) that unlocked by getting any MOTA achievement. By any chance, did any PC players who managed to get a jump start Sunday get it?

Quick Question during the Gate Puzzle. Can you pick up both the Medallion and the love Letter during the Gate Door Puzzle? The game will only allow me to pick up the Medallion and not the love Letter.

Just got it, can someone please tell me where that other ingredient is on the wyvern hunt *sigh*
I have drakevein and winterberry.
I don't wanna miss anything and I've been round and round searching for it. T'is frustrating me now haha

@CommanderJessica - Andraste's Mantle is in the Western Hunting Grounds area. If you're on your way to the Eastern Hunting Grounds, it will be off to the left, on a narrow path near where a hunting party of elves is standing. Hope this helps.

What happens if you chose to leave her at the caves?  I tried ~Give me the scroll (and got lol'd at).  I also saw an attack option but I figured Hawke will just end up looking foolish :/

If you leave her at the caves, you do an alternate route which doesn't involve fighting Qunari which eventually leads to the same spot where the same scene happens. The only difference is that we're unable to do anything different and we can't even ask Tallis for the scroll.

I just tried it again a few minutes. Same thing happen, Unless I'm doing something wrong it seems like a bug.




btw, Do you need certain Companion in your party for it to activate? Their is no Quest Marker above it. Where medallion does.

That puzzle with the picture was confounding. Thanks for the answer to it. I must've wasted at least an hour try.. and failing.. to figure it out. Always got down to one last square I couldn't turn without turning another.

Same thing happend to me. I was able to loot the chest on the left, but I couldnt loot the chest on the right or the medallion on it. >_>

I figured a few peices of loot or whatever they were wasnt a big deal though, and just continued on.

Thanks for the help with the floor puzzle it was driving me insane, but any ideas on how to open the Green and purple doors????????????/ I assume it has to do with the mixer but it wil only give me the color I put down on it wft
