I wasn't too impressed by the first episode, but liked the second one a lot more. Really had a Dragon Age coming to life vibe. -)

I'm hoping the next companion to get picked up will be a dwarf! If some one else is getting picked up that is.

I'm not really sure why I should care about Tallis or anyone else in this video. Qunari murderers don't naturally get my sympathy.

Seriously? Are you so into your computer game that you can't appreciate Felicia Day in her skimpy little elf costume showing off more clevage than netowrk television allows?

Tallis, elves are weak and without coordination. Why I bet you can't even jump up and down and lick this lolipop at the same time!

The first episode was executed a bit poorly, but the second one was great!. It really managed to catch the atmosphere of the DA world. Also, Felicia Day was as good as ever.

I didn't like the second episode as much. The storytelling just seemed a bit strange. Like Tallis ditches the Templar and then runs right back into him again in the next scene.

First was better because of the scale and scope but the second managed some interesting characterization and hints of the characters backgrounds. Also first time we've seen a phylactery used by a templar. Hopefully we'll see some varied characters in the next episode, namely a dwarf.

This episode does seem to bring up a couple of questions about Tallis backstory. Does the web series have the same info as the game? I thought Tallis banter in Mark of the Assasin implied she was an elf from a Tevinter Alienage. In Redemption she knows who Fen'Harel is, seemingly better than Andraste, and she said her parents sold her into slavery.

@Orion

I assumed that city elves still have legends and tales about their gods and heroes, and that's the reason Tallis knows it. Alienages seem to me a little bit like medieval Jewish quarters, with a tight social network that gives importance to their cultural heritage and is based around a wise elder akin to a rabbi. They might even follow some softcore veneration to Elven gods.

It's quite fun. I wish the accents were more varied (like in the games), but I can understand why they're not. I look forward to the next episode!

Well, on the plus side, the saarebas' posse has been cut in half.

Should stuff that happens in Redemption be considered lore accurate? It should, right?

Like in Episodes 2 and 3 stuff has happened which challenged some things I thought I knew about the qunari.

Lore accuracy...dunno. For instance, I'm positive Templars *are* allowed to marry, with the Chantry's approval. Episode 3 of Redemption makes it sound like it doesn't happen.

None of the qunari stuff sounded different to the game lore though... but still confused about saarebas having tongues/not having tongues :P

Same.   It's pretty good just as an adventure, though.  If you don't think too hard about it.

I was a little confused about the stuff in the cave.  A lot happened very fast.

Oh, I'm still enjoying the series :) I just think we should take the 'lore' with a grain of salt, even if it was a collaborative effort with Bioware.

The phylacery, for instance, is just a vial of blood in DA proper, but the Redemption team wanted it to be more visual and impressive for the purposes of the show and turned it into that compass-like thing. While I think that's really cool, I don't know if the games will ever back it up.

The only point in Ep 3 I don't want to agree with is mages being weakened by their own phylactery. Unless it's some high-tier templar ability, I would find it hard to reason why they're not used in that fashion way more often than the 'never' we got in the games.

Someone mentioned in the latest ep "Templar's couldn't get married?"

How come Aveline is married to a templar? Maybe you are allowed to be married before you joined the order?

*DA2 plot spoilers*

After playing DA2, I thought the collar for supressing a saarebas' magic was metaphorical - and that Ketojan was controlled by the Arvaarad's magic rod thingo. But Tallis has an actual collar. Still, I looked at that bit in game again and Ketojan may actually be wearing a collar under that giant gorget armour thing he's wearing. So, I dunno. (I liked the idea of a metaphorical or magic/anti-magic somehow collar.)

Also, Tallis said that the Qun wasn't cool with falling in love. I thought it was cool but that you had to have children with whoever they said you had to. (Although I might have assumed that based on wiki or somewhere I  can't recall.)

PS. On tongues. If it was Sten that said their tongues were removed, I think I read around here somewhere that he might have been under that impression because he wouldn't have known/been close to any sarebaaseseses. Maybe. And something about demons travelling on words. I still want to know how Ketojan could speak, and Redemption saarebas for that matter, if they'd been prevented from doing so since age 12. I think that suggests they have a measure of freedom. (But that's a wild guess.)

Yeah, anything could be under that XD

The qunari are just hard to figure out IMO. We get some information from Sten, but in light of DA2 either half of what he tells us is metaphoric (eg. the tongues thing vs. the arvaarad's rod) or just plain wrong. Then there's also the stitching the mouth shut, which seems to serve absolutely no purpose at all save to look barbaric, as Ketojan proved he could still speak in the end.

Also, Tallis said that the Qun wasn't cool with falling in love. I thought it was cool but that you had to have children with whoever they said you had to. (Although I might have assumed that based on wiki or somewhere I  can't recall.)

I can't link to a quote, but  I believe devs said somewhere that in qunari culture sex is not used as an expression of love, and that matchmaking was arranged and not based on emotions. I don't think we ever hear about that in any of the games though. As to whether they're allowed to fall in love full stop...that I'm not sure about. I have no idea how that would be policed. o_O

Now the third episode was REALLY cool! They actually used spells and abilities from the game! It keeps getting better and better :)
