The Time Traveller: About a hundred years. It turns out that you've been an inspiration to the masses.

 

The Real Life Batman: How?

 

The Time Traveller: Well remember that time when your parents died in an air balloon accident?

 

The Real Life Batman: Yeah that was a pretty bleak time for me.

 

The Time Traveller: Turns out you are a diety in this time. They worship you as some titan beating, crime defeating symbol of hope.

 

The Real Life Batman: What?

 

The Time Traveller: Remember that time shortly after your parents died when you went to a fancy dress party dressed up as a Bat? Then started crying, spoke in a gruff voice and talked about a society without crime?

 

The Real Life Batman: I don't remember that, because I was drunk that night. I went to a costume party drinking an incredible amount of alcohol.

 

The Time Traveller: Well one creative mind was inspired and wrote a story about you. Then some less creative person stole that story years later to start a series of comics. They call you "Batman"

 

The Real Life Batman: Wow. That's unbelievable. So one drunken night and all of a sudden I'm a demigod?

 

The Time Traveller: Yep. The alter ego of Batman even shares your name "Bruce Wayne".

 

The Real Life Batman: So why are you telling me this?

 

The Time Traveller: I saw an alternate time line where you didn't go to that costume party. In the year 2015 a certain dictator at this very moment started a nuclear war. However in this time line she never became the dictator of this nation. She instead dedicated herself towards the goal of world piece, simply because she grew up reading Batman Comics.

 

The Real Life Batman: Oh come on! That's Bat **** crazy!

 

The Time Traveller: Alternate timelines often are.
